Held at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California, the Breakthrough Prize ceremony awarded millions of dollars to recipients for their outstanding discoveries in life science, fundamental physics and mathematics. According to the official website for the Breakthrough Prize Foundation, their eponymous award show is regarded as the “Oscars of science.”
While walking the red carpet, Levine and Prinsloo, who have been married since 2014 after being introduced through a mutual friend, kept a sweet embrace as they gazed into each other’s eyes. The “Girls Like You” singer kept his arm around his wife’s waist, making sure to hold her close while also honoring her beautiful physique. Before walking off the red carpet, Levine lovingly reached for Prinslo’s hand.
Levine donned a black suit with a light blue undershirt. He also sported a freshly shaved face rather than his typical scruff. Prinsloo wore a gorgeous grayish-black dress that hung off one shoulder. The blonde bombshell kept her glam minimal and styled her hair with soft waves.

Although Levine only had one contestant from his team in the final four against two artists from Clarkson’s team and one artist from Legend’s team, he — and the judges — weren’t shocked when Levine’s incredible artist won the show.
The “Moves Like Jagger” singer’s winning artist was Alexia Jayy, who blew the judges away during the blind auditions with her rendition of “You Make Me Feel Like (A Natural Woman)” by Aretha Franklin. In an interview with People, Levine shared how proud he is to have been the coach behind Jayy’s launch into the stardom that he deeply feels she deserves.
“She’s one of the best singers I’ve ever heard sing, ever,” Levine said. “I’ve been wrong before, but I really believed that she was gonna win this thing. As a human being, she’s such a wonderful spirit. I love her very much. I would have been super surprised if she wasn’t my last person standing.”
