Reba McEntire Surprises Fans With New ‘Trailblazer’ Performance Video

Reba McEntire has surprised her fans with a new video that features a lot of star power.

The season 28 coach of “The Voice” has released the live performance of her hit “Trailblazer” alongside ACM Entertainer of the Year Lainey Wilson and country superstar Miranda Lambert.

While Reba McEntire debuted the song alongside Lainey and Miranda at the 2025 Academy of Country Music Awards May 8, the video is of another performance, and another surprise for fans.

The just-released video is from Nashville’s first-ever Music City Rodeo, which happened a few weeks later on May 29.

Reba, whose late father was a Hall of Fame steer roper, cofounded the Music City Rodeo alongside Tim McGraw and Jelly Roll, who also performed at the 3-day event.

During her performance at the rodeo, Reba began singing “Trailblazer,” which had quickly become a country radio hit. But then she teased the audience by talking about Lainey and Miranda, saying, “Wouldn’t it be great if they were here tonight?.”

As the crowd applauded that idea, Lainey Wilson and Miranda Lambert walked out on stage and the crowd went wild.

Reba McEntire Says She’d Like to Perform ‘Trailblazer’ Every Day

In an Instagram post announcing the new video, Reba McEntire showed her love for the song. She wrote, “Wish we could all perform this one together every day! ❤️🤠 The “Trailblazer” (Live from Music City Rodeo) video is out now!”

Reba then asked fans to tag their own “trailblazers” in the comments of the post.

The country legend has made it clear just how important the message of the song is to her.

One post on Reba’s Instagram account shows a series of clips over the years of Reba talking about the importance of the women who blazed a trail for her, making her career possible.

And according to Billboard, Wilson and Lambert wrote “Trailblazers” with Reba McEntire and their ACM performance in mind.

“We were like, ‘OK, we’re going to do a song with Reba — what kind of song do we write?” recalled “We were calling her on the set [of sitcom “Happy’s Place”] and trying to figure out, ‘What’s the right message for this trio? What do we really want to say in three minutes?’” The three decided they wanted a song about musical influences.

Trailblazing Trio Labeled ‘Most Profound Moment’ of the ACMs

When Reba McEntire, Lainey Wilson and Miranda Lambert debuted “Trailblazer” at the ACM Awards, fans and critics alike labeled it the “most profound moment in the show.

Rolling Stone wrote, “Three generations of musicians took hold of the 2025 ACM Awards stage” and USA Today called it “the most profound moment” in the lineage of women in country music.

The song namechecks some of country’s biggest female artists of all time, with the lyric “Dolly and Loretta, Patsy and Tammy too / They gave me a seat at the table and I’m saving one for you.”

‘Trailblazer’ Has Fostered a Tight Bond Between the Trio

Through the process of writing and rehearsing the song, Reba McEntire says she, Lainey Wilson and Miranda Lambert have become close friends, sharing a group text.

“We can’t tell you what’s in it,” Lambert told Billboard. “It’s off-color.”

McEntire says friendship between the different generations of women in country music is what “Trailblazer” is all about.

“We’ve got that camaraderie; we’ve got that helpful nature. If somebody needs something, the others come in to help. That’s very important. A lot of people think it’s backstabbing and so competitive. There’s enough room in this business — and all businesses — for everybody to be successful. We’ve just got to help each other and share what we’ve gone through and say what didn’t work. ‘Now here’s what did work. Maybe it will work for you.’”

Wilson refers to a line in the song about paying tribute to those who “gave me a seat at the table.” “One of the very first people to give me a seat at the table was that one right over there,” Wilson says, indicating Miranda Lambert.

“She made me feel like I was welcome, and like she was my cheerleader. I think a lot of times people like to pit women against each other. And I think we’re just proving otherwise.”
