Kate and Jon Gosselin’s Son Aaden Breaks Silence About Reality TV Days

Aaden Gosselin has offered fans a rare glimpse into his perspective on growing up in the spotlight, sharing his fondest memories from the family’s reality TV days during a recent appearance alongside his mother, Kate Gosselin.

The 21-year-old, who was one of the sextuplets featured on the hit TLC series “Jon & Kate Plus 8,” opened up about his experience during an August 15 TikTok Live session with his mom, providing insights into what aspects of their televised childhood he felt stood out the most.

Wyoming Adventures Hold Special Place

When asked to reflect on his favorite memories from filming the reality series, Aaden didn’t hesitate to share his answer. “Probably anytime we went to Wyoming,” he said during the live video. “That was really fun.”

Kate immediately agreed with her son’s reply. “Oh yeah,” she responded. “I was talking about it earlier how they sold the ranch in Wyoming—so sad.”

The Wyoming trips Aaden referenced occurred during two separate filming periods for the show. The first took place in 2009 when Kate made a solo journey to a dude ranch with her sons during her divorce proceedings with Jon, who remained home with the girls. The second adventure happened two years later when the entire family embarked on an RV trip to Jackson Hole while filming their spinoff series “Kate Plus 8.”

These travel experiences clearly made a lasting impression on Aaden, who has largely stayed out of the public eye since the show ended in 2017. His calm demeanor during the TikTok session was consistent with the personality traits his mother said she has consistently observed in him over the years.

“He’s very chill. He’s just a laid-back guy,” Kate explained during their interaction.

Return to Social Media Spotlight

The recent TikTok appearance marks a notable return to public visibility for the Gosselin family. They stepped away from reality television after an 11-season run that spanned from 2007 to 2017. Kate has been gradually rebuilding her social media presence through lifestyle content on TikTok, sharing videos about cooking and household management.

During the August 21 livestream, Kate reflected on the possibility of rewatching their old episodes. “I’d love to see my reaction to our show — I’d probably just cry the whole time,” she shared.

The interaction between mother and son during their TikTok session revealed a warm dynamic. Aaden patiently helped Kate navigate viewer comments while she experimented with various digital filters. Their playful exchange offered viewers a glimpse into their current relationship. Aaden was adorned with digital mustaches and cowboy hats as Kate learned to use the platform’s features.

Kate currently works as a pediatric home health care nurse after relocating to North Carolina, which is a significant career shift from her reality TV days. Her recent social media content focuses on everyday activities and has received largely positive responses from viewers.

The family’s reality show documented the challenges and joys of raising eight children, including twins Mady and Cara, now 24, along with sextuplets Aaden, Alexis, Hannah, Collin, Leah, and Joel, all now 21. Some family members have spoken about the difficulties of growing up in the public eye. However, Aaden’s recent comments focused on the positive experiences from their time on television.

Several of Kate’s children have made appearances in her recent TikTok content. This includes daughter Alexis, who was seen giving her mother a hug before heading out in one of the videos.

Fans have responded positively to Kate’s return to social media. Many noted her apparent contentment in this new phase of life. One viewer commented: “Who would’ve thought in 2025 that Kate Gosselin would be my soothing decompress videos to watch!”
