‘Sister Wives’ Star Shares Emotional Message About Her Father

Fans of TLC’s “Sister Wives” have had a front-row seat to Kody Brown’s disastrous relationship with his children for years now. The 57-year-old has 18 children, ranging in age from 32 to 10, with only a handful still speaking to him.

Fans have also seen several of Kody’s former spiritual wives try to help him mend fences with his children. Christine Brown Woolley, Kody’s former third wife, has been particularly vocal in recent seasons about wanting him to be a more present father to their six children: Aspyn (31), Mykelti (29), Paedon (27), Gwendlyn (24), Ysabel (22), and Truely (16).

Christine has made it clear she wants her children to have a strong relationship with their father, just like she did. In honor of her own father, Christine recently shared a touching message on social media. Here’s what the “Sister Wives” star had to say.

Christine Brown Woolley Honors Her Father in Touching New Message

Christine Brown Woolley recently took to Instagram to honor her late father, Rex Allred.

The “Sister Wives” star shared a carousel of old photos featuring herself and her dad taken over the years. She wrote, “My dad passed away in January, it’s his birthday today, and I miss him terribly.”

The reality star added, “He was the role model for all of my siblings and so many more people. He was all about love, compassion, kindness, and never burning a bridge.”

Christine ended her touching tribute, writing, “He was an incredible dad, and it is incredible being his daughter.”

“Sister Wives” fans have seen glimpses of Rex Allred over the years. Most recently, fans saw him walk Christine down the aisle during her wedding ceremony to David Woolley in October 2023.

Christine Brown Woolley Came From a High-Profile Polygamous Family

As “Sister Wives” fans will remember, Kody Brown admitted on multiple occasions to not really being attracted to Christine when he took her as his third wife in March 1994. Christine was 21, and Kody was 25 at the time of their spiritual marriage.

Kody also revealed to TLC cameras that he largely married Christine because she came from “polygamous royalty” in their Mormon fundamentalist group, the Apostolic United Brethren (AUB).

This is because Christine’s father, Rex Allred, is the son of Rulon Allred, one of the AUB’s former leaders. Rulon was spiritually married to 18 women and had at least 48 children.

Along with being a religious leader in the AUB, Rulon was also a homeopath and chiropractor in Salt Lake City. He was murdered at his medical practice in 1977 on the orders of Ervil LeBaron, who was the head of a rival polygamous group that believed in blood atonement.

While Rex Allred also practiced polygamy, he did not take as many wives or have as many children as his father. Rex had two spiritual wives, Susan and Annie. He shared five children with Susan and six with Annie. Christine’s mother, Annie, left Rex and the fundamentalist Mormon faith in the early ’90s, shortly before Christine married Kody Brown.

‘Sister Wives’ Fans Rally Around Christine Brown Woolley With Support

After sharing her touching tribute to her father, fans quickly flooded Christine’s comment section with supportive messages.

One fan wrote, “I’m so sorry for your loss. Cherish the memories, as I am sure you will.”

Another added, “Happy heavenly birthday to your dad! It was so nice seeing him escort you to David during your wedding. It was clear how much love he had for you.”

A third chimed in, “I’m so glad he finally got to see you so happy!”

Christine’s tribute struck a chord with fans, many of whom continue to support her as she shares more personal moments online. As she settles into this new chapter, away from polygamy, it’s clear that her father’s influence is still very much a part of her story.
