Before Brendon’s passing, he had not been active on social media for several months, and his last Instagram post was on October 27, 2025. It was a post informing his Facebook and Patreon supporters of his “Exclusive Fanfic Reading.”
The actor included a throwback photo of himself and shared that his reading from that day would be available to all paid Patreon tiers and Facebook supporters, and shared links to both, letting his fans know how they could get set up. “Hope you enjoy! Let me know what you think and post a link to some of your Buffy fanfic favorites!” he shared.
Fans flooded the comment section after his death, sharing their thoughts and mourning Brendon’s loss. “I met you once at a convention and you were so nice. We had a lovely chat. Sad to hear the news today. May you have found some peace,” a fan wrote. “Pls say it isn’t true,” another person shared.

“Most people know Nicky for his work as an actor, and for the characters he brought to life over the years. In recent years, Nicky has found his passion in painting and art. Nicky loved to share his enthusiastic talent with his family, friends and fans,” the statement reads. “He was passionate, sensitive, and endlessly driven to create.”
Brendon’s family ended their message by asking for privacy but thanking his fans for their love and support.
