Lisa Kudrow Admits She Tried to Flirt With ’90s Heartthrob – but He Completely Missed It

“Friends” has seen a lot of ’90s heartthrobs star in guest roles, but there’s one who totally missed Lisa Kudrow‘s attempts at flirting.

Noah Wyle, of “The Pitt” fame, guest starred on an episode of “Friends” in 1995, alongside his “ER” co-star George Clooney. Despite Kudrow’s efforts, he didn’t know she had been flirting with him, he shared in a recent interview.

Both stars were interviewed separately on Magic Radio on March 28, when the topic of Lisa Kudrow’s flirting was brought up, Hello! reported.

Wyle was asked if he had a question for Kudrow, and one immediately came to mind.

“I saw her yesterday and she said to me, ‘Did I make you uncomfortable when I flirted with you in those early days when we would do those press tours?’,” he said.

“And I said, ‘Were you flirting?’ And she said, ‘Yes.’ And I’ve been sitting with that all night long as I never picked up on that. So you can ask her about that as that was such an exciting time of our lives. We were all so young.”

Kudrow was shown the clip during her interview, and responded to the claim. “So I guess it turns out he just hated me,” she quipped.

“I thought because he’s younger, he’s a lot younger, I was like joke flirting with him because I had a boyfriend. I’m now married to him. But he was just so adorable. I would say, ‘You are just the cutest!'”

She continued, “He would get like, ‘Oh thanks,’ and edge away and I was making him uncomfortable. And instead he’s like, ‘No, I didn’t know you were flirting’. I’m like, oh, okay, so you just hated me. He doesn’t realize that’s what he’s just said.”

In a 2025 interview with Entertainment Weekly, Wyle opened up on his “Friends” cameo.

“We were also collegiate back in the old days. I knew a lot of them before our shows broke,” he shared.

“It seemed totally natural because we were all hanging out anyway,” he continued. “I go back and I’ve seen those clips now and I just can’t believe what a baby face I have — I look more like my 19-year-old daughter than I do now. It’s crazy.”

Wyle claims he didn’t realize what a big deal the cameo would turn out to be.

“I remember thinking it was almost like a gas that we were doing it. It was just doing a walk-on. I didn’t think it had any pressure or attendant pageantry. That’s how naive I was,” he recalled.

“I’m sure at all the levels above us, they were just thrilled at this like, ‘We’re taking the guys from ‘ER’! We’re putting them on ‘Friends!'”
