Sandra Bullock only recently felt able to speak about the death of her longtime partner Bryan Randall, who died from the nervous system disease ALS at 57. It has been three years since Randall’s passing in August 2023, and Bullock is back in the limelight as she promotes her new movie, “Practical Magic 2.” The sequel to the beloved 1998 classic, in which she stars alongside Nicole Kidman.

An insider has also shared information on how she is doing. “Sandra is finally doing better, which is why she made ‘Practical Magic 2,’” the insider said, the Daily Mail reports. “She felt it was time to talk about Bryan, like it is okay now. She doesn’t mind opening up about him, as she wants to honor him in the best way with sweet memories.”
“Practical Magic 2” is Bullock’s first film since the 2022 film, “The Lost City.” The insider noted that it has been a long time since Bullock did the press scene and promotion for a film. “She has to do press again, which she has not done in a while, so that is awkward for her,” they said. “That is why she started her Instagram page. Everyone was like, ‘You have to do it.”‘

Sandra Bullock’s Partner Bryan Randall’s Health Decline
Randall was diagnosed with ALS in approximately 2020, and the insider detailed how challenging this time had been for the couple, and how Bullock became more reserved. “Sandra really closed herself off when Bryan got sick; she was all about him and her kids. Her personality changed too; the laughs stopped coming. She was a much more serious person,” the insider told Daily Mail. They also claim that keeping Randall’s health struggles private, while taking care of children during the COVID19 pandemic, took a toll on Bullock, who felt “isolated.”
A second insider said, “During Covid, Sandra was really scared. She was always isolated and lonely during that period and the couple of years that followed.” They added, “Bryan was an extremely nice person.”
The couple had been together since 2015 until Randall’s death. During an appearance on SiriusXM’s SmartLess podcast on August 17, Bullock spoke about the impact of Randall’s health. “I didn’t take care of myself then, but I do take care of myself now. My sister, for my birthday, gave me this beautiful pewter box, and it said ‘Leonardo da Vinci,’ a quote by him at like 87; he says, ‘I’m still learning’. I went, ‘Oh.’ That’s why, I think, I have such happiness in my chest,” she said, ComingSoon reports.
