Sandra Bullock Shares Rare Family Photos With Kids Louis and Laila

Sandra Bullock is giving fans an unusually personal glimpse into the life she has worked hard to keep out of Hollywood’s spotlight.

The “Practical Magic” Star, 62, shared photos on Instagram Tuesday, August 18, capturing recent adventures with family and friends.

The images included nature walks, fishing and rafting, while several appeared to feature her children, 16-year-old son Louis and 12-year-old daughter Laila. See the photos here.

She also visited her parents’ graves and tagged her sister, Gesine Bullock-Prado, in one photo.

“Friends, family, fun, fishies, furries, aaaand work,” Bullock captioned the post.

Bullock has largely kept Louis and Laila out of the public eye, making the new photos a particularly rare look at her life as a mom.

She adopted Louis in 2010 and welcomed Laila through adoption in 2015. Over the years, Bullock has spoken openly about how profoundly becoming a parent changed the direction of her life.

In May, she marked Mother’s Day by sharing another rare family photo and writing

“To all the mamas, no matter how you came to be, Happy Mother’s Day.” She called motherhood an “honor of a lifetime,”.

Bullock’s return to acting has also centered on Louis and Laila.

While discussing ‘Practical Magic 2’ at the CNBC Changemakers Summit in April, the Oscar winner explained that she agreed to make the sequel when she knew filming could fit around her children’s school schedule.

“I made this film at this time because I knew my kids were out of school. I’m not going to sacrifice my children’s — my time — with my kids,” she said, as reported by People.

Bullock added, “They’d be happy if I was gone. I would not. It’s true. And I do not do my best work if my children are struggling or if they need something and I can’t facilitate it.”

The upcoming sequel reunites Bullock with Nicole Kidman and arrives September 11.

Sandra Bullock Says Motherhood Came at the Right Time

Bullock has also reflected on becoming a mother later than she once expected.

During an appearance on ‘Red Table Talk’, she said the timing ultimately felt right.

“I don’t know why that was the only route, but I’m so glad [the universe had me wait],” Bullock said. “Had me wait even though I was anxious and I was eager — and it went nope, you’re not going to do it the way you think you’re going to do it.”

Bullock has described herself as fortunate to watch Louis and Laila grow up and has repeatedly made clear that being present for them matters more than keeping up a relentless Hollywood schedule.

After starring in ‘The Lost City’ and appearing in ‘Bullet Train’ in 2022, Bullock deliberately pulled back from the screen.

“I’m not retiring, just going to not spend time in front of the camera for a while. I have beautiful babies. I’d rather look at them,” she told People at the time.

“I’d rather look at them every day and have them be mad at me and annoyed and make memories with them for right now.”

Now, as ‘Practical Magic 2’ brings Bullock back to the big screen after four years, her latest photos show that the part of her life she treasures most remains firmly centered on family.
