PHOTOS: 3 Stars Who You May Not Remember Sandra Bullock Dated

Sandra Bullock has played the lead in multiple romantic comedies, including “The Proposal,” “Two Weeks Notice,” and “While You Were Sleeping,” but does her personal life mirror any of her onscreen relationships?

Bullock has had high-profile relationships in the past, but she’s also been extremely private about her love life. Notably, she was married to Jesse James from 2005 to 2010 and was in a relationship with photographer Bryan Randall from 2015 until his passing in 2023. But many fans may have forgotten her relationships with these A-listers.

Tate Donovan and Bullock starred together in “Love Potion No. 9” and dated from 1990 to 1994. Bullock really loved Donovan.

“I adored Tate so much,” Bullock told Vanity Fair in 1995. “It’s like they say, there’s one person in your life, and Tate and I are closer than any two people I’ve ever experienced in my life. There’s nobody that means more to me, and I know for a fact that I mean the most to him, in that certain way. I can’t explain why things worked out the way they did. We both know why it happened.”

Another forgotten relationship Bullock had was with actor Matthew McConaughey. The pair co-starred in the 1996 film “A Time to Kill.” They never spoke publicly about their relationship, but are believed to have been together for around two years.

Bullock had denied dating McConaughey, but the most concrete evidence of their relationship came in 2003 when she did not correct Cosmopolitan after they referred to him as her boyfriend, E! News reports.

Bullock and Ryan Gosling have a 16-year age gap, and their romance was unexpected. Still, the couple dated from 2001 until 2003. They also starred in the 2002 thriller film “Murder by Numbers.”

There have also been persistent rumors that Bullock and her former co-star, Keanu Reeves, have dated. In an interview with Esquire in 2021, Bullock set the record straight, saying they had not dated. “Keanu’s a guy who, I feel like, is friends with every woman he’s ever dated. I don’t think there’s anyone who has something horrible to say about him. So maybe we could have survived. I don’t know,” she said. She also praised him for being an incredible person.

As an A-list actress, there has always been an interest in Bullock’s life, including her romantic relationships. She is a pretty private person, choosing not to share too many details with the public; however, she has made some memorable comments in interviews over the years.

Before she married James, she admitted that she was once “deathly afraid of marriage,”  in an interview with Entertainment Tonight in 1999. She has not married since their divorce in 2010. In the same chat, she reflected on what she wanted in a partner. What someone has is not important; it’s what they make her feel.

“In the end, we’re all going to be old and wrinkled. You’d like to know that that person can, a, make you laugh, and think, you know can really stimulate you and excite you when they’re gone and you think about them,” she said. “Somebody you can admire and be proud of and sit back and go, ‘this is my man.’ And whether or not he’s a millionaire, or he’s a painter, a musician, or somebody who just, you know, shucks clams, it’s that respect level that we forget to look for.”
