De Matteo has always had strong political opinions, but during Covid-19, that habit backfired. When vaccine mandates swept through the industry, her outspokenness and refusal costed her an agent. With work drying up, things only got worse when a mortgage forbearance she had taken out came due, leaving her with foreclosure notices pilling up. Facing mounting housing cost, De Matteo turned to social platform OnlyFans. Next she knew, this decision almost immediately paid off. Not only it helped her rake tens thousands of dollar since joining, even allowing her to pay off her lien in matter of minutes.

Before OnlyFans came to her rescue, De Matteo even said she felt she was being divinely punished.

During the conversation, the 54-year-old-actor explained the initial intention behind kicking off her journey on OnlyFans. “Honestly, we were going to use the OnlyFans platform to start a podcast because I was afraid that I’d be censored too much to talk about stuff just out there in the world,” she admitted.

Soon, her children had an idea that was strange yet successful enough to pull the family out of pit of financial debts. “The kids were like, ‘Show your feet on Only Fans,’” she recalled. What next? The Nonna’s actress posted a picture of herself in a bikini and in her words, “within 75 minutes the lien was paid.”

As much as the platform helped her battle financial hardship, in her words, the move became like a political statement.

“In some ways, the OnlyFans page was almost like a political statement on my part in a way. It was like, [expletive] you. I don’t have to work.”

The actor also cleared the air about assumptions that her Emmy-winning role left her with a pile of money. “People think I’m made of [expletive] money,” she said. “Everyone sees me coming, they’re like, ‘Here comes that rich [expletive] from The Sopranos.’” She continued, “And it’s like, no, I’m not at all. In fact, you know, I live a pretty [expletive] normal life. I had to do that [OnlyFans] page to get a lien off my house after foreclosure.”

De Matteo then tributed her OnlyFans page to Adriana, saying, “The OnlyFans thing, I always say, it’s Adriana’s fan page because people love her.”

She concluded, “I mean, I’ve done a lot of other TV shows, but that’s the TV show people really love. So, you want to see more Adriana, go there, and that’s where I am.
