The Jonas Brothers experienced an unexpected scare during their Greetings From Your Hometown tour stop in Portland, Oregon, on Saturday, September 20. While Kevin Jonas, Joe Jonas, and former “The Voice” coach Nick Jonas, entertained thousands of fans at the Moda Center on Saturday night, part of the stage unexpectedly caught fire—sending flames and smoke into the air.
Fire Breaks Out at Jonas Brothers Concert
Videos quickly surfaced across social media showing smoke billowing from the upper stage area as the band performed. Audience members could be heard screaming while someone rushed in with an extinguisher to put out the flames.
One concertgoer admitted, per the US Sun, “I was there & that thing was STRESSING me out.” Another fan added, “I was like ummm are we gonna have to leave… it was literally burning up in there.”
Other reactions were mixed. Some said they thought the fire was part of the production. One joked, “No bc at first I was so confused I thought it was supposed to happen.” Another labeled it “10/10 the worst Jonas Brothers show in Portland to date,” while a different fan laughed that the cheers seemed to be for “the guy with the extinguisher lol.”
Despite the dramatic moment, the show continued without interruption, and the Jonas Brothers later thanked fans for coming out on social media without directly acknowledging the incident.
Jonas Brothers Tour Continues Nationwide
The Jonas Brothers are in the middle of their 20th anniversary celebration, touring North America with a setlist that combines their biggest hits with songs from their new album “Greetings From Your Hometown,” released August 8.
The group’s next stops include San Francisco on September 25, followed by Sacramento and Anaheim. They’ll then head to Colorado and Iowa in October before wrapping up the tour on November 14 in Connecticut.
Fans remain curious about the changing setlist on the tour. According to Music Feeds, each stop features surprises—ranging from classic throwbacks like “Year 3000” and “Burnin’ Up” to covers and acoustic fan requests. Some nights have even included guest appearances for special collaborations.
While the Portland concert scare gave fans more than they bargained for, many left relieved the situation was handled quickly and the show went on. As one concertgoer summed up, “The fact everyone was cheering this whole time had me laughing so hard. Best concert ever!!!”
