In May, Bravo announced that “Below Deck Down Under” would be returning for season 4. And, fans were in for a real treat when, in April, Bravo teased on Instagram an unexpected crossover that would see the ladies of “The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” sailing on Captain Jason Chambers’ yacht.
The photo also delighted “Below Deck” fans when they realized that “Below Deck Sailing Yacht” chief stew Daisy Kelliher and beloved chef Ben Robinson will be a part of the season 4 crew. With Robinson newly single, will he work his charm on one of the new crew or even a RHOSLC cast member?
Ben Robinson’s Past Relationships With His Yachting Crew
Chef Ben Robinson was the very first chef to be featured on “Below Deck” when it premiered in 2013. Robinson worked as a chef for the first four seasons of the original series and as the chef on seasons 1 and 4 of the spinoff “Below Deck Mediterranean.” Robinson is now set to make his epic return in season 4 of “Below Deck Down Under.”
During his time working his magic in the kitchen, Robinson was also quite well known for being flirtatious with some of the crew. According to Screen Rant, Robinson had a short-lived relationship with Kat Held, who was a second stew for the first two seasons of “Below Deck.” However, in an interview with Bravo in 2014, she shared a different take on their relationship. “No, nothing happened between me and Ben,” she clarified.
On seasons 2-4 of “Below Deck,” Robinson developed a strong bond with chief stew Kate Chastain. According to Bravo, the two were never in a romantic relationship, but Chastain did admit during an appearance on WWHL in 2019 that they did sleep together once.
The two have been incredibly close friends, with Chastain having taken her son to Florida to hang out with Robinson.
On season 4 of “Below Deck,” Robinson struck up a romance with second stew Emily Warburton-Adams. The two left the season together, and she lived with him in Florida. In 2017, Robinson confirmed that they were no longer an item.
Robinson was filmed hooking up with season 1 “Below Deck Med” stew Tiffany Copeland. After the crew’s last night out of the season, the pair got hot and heavy in a guest cabin. When Copeland spoke to Bravo about whether the two had taken their romance into the real world, she shared, “Ben and I have hung out a few times after the season.” However, they remained friends.
Robinson’s ‘Hot & Cold’ Relationship with Hannah Ferrier
While Robinson was working as the chef on “Below Deck Med,” he and chief stew Hannah Ferrier sparked a strong connection. However, she would describe their relationship as “hot and cold.”
“In terms of my relationship with Ben, it was very, very hot and cold, and what you see is basically what was going on,” Hannah shared with Bravo. “I think there was flirting and then there was fights and things like that, so it’s always difficult when you’re trying to gauge what kind of relationship you’re gonna have on the boat.”
She also shared, “We had a connection at the start, and we were flirting and things like that, but on my side, it wasn’t really going to go anywhere,” she told Andy Cohen. “Like my girlfriend says, I’ll flirt with a telegraph pole when I’m drunk. I’ll flirt with anything.”
Robinson Ended His Engagement to Fiancée Kiara Cabral
According to Bravo, Robinson proposed to his girlfriend of four years, Kiara Cabral, in May 2023. However, in a Sept. 16, 2024, Instagram post, the chef shared the news that they ended their engagement.
“Hey guys, I hope everyone’s had a wonderful summer. I have missed being in touch with you, but I’m finally able to share my adventures. You will understand, it’s been difficult. I am no longer getting married… We have decided to go our separate ways, and I think that this is the best decision for both of us,” he began.
“I would rather not discuss the reasons behind these decisions, but I feel it’s important for me to express my circumstance. With any luck my grievances will be overshadowed by the support of my loyal followers, friends and family. You always give me strength.”
He continued, “I’m excited to continue my culinary inspirations with my non-gaslit cooktop, and trusty blowtorch. After all, nobody deserves a troublesome flame… Cheers Lovelies… ❤️”
As of this writing, it appears that Robinson is currently single.
Fans can watch Robinson back in action when the RHOSLC and “Below Deck Down Under” crossover episode airs on Oct. 28 on Bravo.
