Mary Cosby Reveals What She Really Thought About Chef Ben Robinson’s ‘Below Deck’ Dishes

The “Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” and “Below Deck Down Under” worlds collided in a Bravo crossover fans didn’t see coming. As the RHOSLC cast set sail on the luxury yacht Katina, Mary Cosby quickly became the unexpected star of the trip — not for her drama, but for her love of food. The Bravo veteran couldn’t stop talking about chef Ben Robinson’s cooking, calling it one of the best meals she’s ever had.

Mary Cosby Couldn’t Stop Raving About Chef Ben Robinson’s Food

Cosby knows luxury when she sees it — or in this case, tastes it. The RHOSLC star couldn’t stop praising “Below Deck Down Under” chef Ben Robinson’s cooking during the Bravo crossover episode that aired October 21.

“The food was so good. It was so good,” Cosby said during a post-episode interview with Bravo’s The Daily Dish. “It tastes like a personal chef. It had that taste, you know? Like, I requested, and I ordered, and he knew me. He knew what to fix for me and he did it. And that’s how it tasted.”

That’s no small compliment from the housewife Whitney Rose once called “the bougiest one out of all of us.” Cosby’s preference sheet for the charter was as high-end as fans would expect — including 2003 Dom Perignon, which she listed not once, but three times. “My yacht vibe is pure luxury,” she said confidently.

Before dinner, chief stew Daisy Kelliher personally checked in with Cosby about the menu. “I saw that you don’t eat shrimp. The chef is making panko-crusted wahoo. Would you eat that?” Kelliher asked. Cosby approved — and later made it clear the meal didn’t disappoint.

Mary Cosby Enjoyed Peace — and Cheesecake — While the RHOSLC Cast Fought Upstairs

While the rest of the RHOSLC cast — including Heather Gay, Lisa Barlow, and Meredith Marks — were busy arguing at dinner, Cosby decided to skip the drama. She stayed in her cabin with castmate Angie Katsanevas, who was battling seasickness, and enjoyed her meal in peace.

“I thoroughly enjoyed it and I’m so glad I didn’t have to be upstairs fighting,” Cosby said. As chaos unfolded on deck, she happily crunched on her dinner and declared, “Mmmmm—I’ve been blessed.” Katsanevas agreed, responding, “You are blessed. Eating in peace.”

Cosby even had dessert delivered directly to her room. New “Below Deck Down Under” cast member Mike Durrant surprised her with a deconstructed cheesecake, prompting Cosby to joke about the commotion upstairs. “They are buck-wild up there,” she said with a laugh before finishing every crumb.

Angie Katsanevas Shares a ‘Five-Star’ Moment With Captain Jason

While Cosby was enjoying Robinson’s food, Katsanevas was getting special treatment from Captain Jason Chambers himself. “Captain Jason was coming in and bringing me soup, bringing me tea, bringing me ginger,” Katsanevas revealed also The Daily Dish. “He tried everything and nothing was making me feel better except his visits. I really felt like I was in a five-star hospital.”

Cameras caught Chambers laying ice packs around Katsanevas during the October 28 episode. “I laugh because I had my eyes closed, and I just could not have felt less attractive,” she said. “And I look up, and he’s now switched from his white day shirt… and I open my eyes and he’s standing there in a black shirt with the gold patches.”

She added with a smile, “I thought, like, ‘Did I die and go to heaven? Is this an icon? What am I looking at?’ But his visits definitely made me feel better.”
