‘Southern Charm’ Season 11’s Love Triangle Just Got More Complicated

Craig Conover’s love life has become one of the biggest storylines on “Southern Charm” season 11, and it’s not because he has made things simple. As the season continues on Bravo, Conover is finding himself at the center of messy tension involving Salley Carson and Charley Manley — with the women, and even their castmates, questioning whether his actions have created confusion on purpose.

The situation came to a head across recent episodes and the “Southern Charm” After Show, where Conover, Carson, and Manley each offered their own version of events — and their accounts do not always line up.

‘Southern Charm’ Newbie Charley Manley Says She Didn’t Break Girl Code

Manley addressed the drama on the “Southern Charm” After Show for season 11, episode 7, after it was revealed that she accepted a one-on-one invite from Conover without telling Carson first. While the moment raised eyebrows among the cast, Manley insisted she didn’t do anything wrong.

“I don’t feel like I was overstepping,” Manley said. “I don’t feel like I did anything wrong.”

Manley explained that she kept quiet to avoid triggering unnecessary tension in her friendship with Carson, but she said she wouldn’t have agreed to the date if she believed Carson genuinely had feelings for Conover.

“Knowing my friendship with Salley, if I thought that she would seriously have a problem with me hanging out with Craig one-on-one and going on this oyster date, I would have said no,” Manley said. She added that Carson had previously told her she was more interested in Austen Kroll and other people.

Manley also noted that Carson had even encouraged her to pursue Conover, which made Carson’s later reaction feel confusing.

“I have the mindset that we have the friendship to where if she really did not want me to go or if she really liked this guy, that she would tell me,” Manley said. “It’s whiplash; it really is.”

‘Southern Charm’ Season 11: Salley Carson Says the Real Issue Was Trust

Carson acknowledged that she did tell Manley to “go for Craig,” even though she admitted it could sting. But she said the deeper issue wasn’t Conover — it was Manley’s lack of honesty.

“I never want to stop someone from their own happiness, but her not telling me was crazy,” Carson said on the After Show. “It was never about me and Craig. It was always about me and Charley’s friendship and me feeling like she was hiding things and being shady.”

Carson also disputed the idea that Manley didn’t know where Carson stood emotionally. She said she had been open about the flirtation and chemistry with Conover, especially during their late-night hangouts.

“I would text her all the time and be like, ‘I’m feeling this way about Craig… there’s definitely flirtatious things going on between us. There’s chemistry in his hot tub,’” Carson recalled. “She knew exactly what she was doing.”

‘Southern Charm’ Hot Tub Hangouts: Craig Conover Calls It ‘College Again’

Conover, for his part, said the group dynamic was never romantic as others implied. On the After Show for season 11, episode 6, he described the late-night hangouts with Carson, Manley, and Kory Keefer as a close-knit friendship situation.

“Everyone can think it’s weird, but, like, we, all four of us, got so close,” Conover said. “We had the best times… We were in there for hours, not hooking up, so we were just talking and just having fun. And, like, I’d cook for everyone.”

Conover said it reminded him of a laid-back, social period in life.

“You know what it felt like was like college again: when you had best girl friends and guy friends, and everyone just hung out,” he said.

Manley echoed that vibe, saying it felt like being with “college friends again.” But Carson admitted she expected something different, reacting to the situation more bluntly.

“You don’t think that I’m in a hot tub until 4 a.m. and I don’t want to be touched or made out with?” Carson said. “Are you kidding me?”

New episodes of “Southern Charm” season 11 air Wednesdays on Bravo.
