How to Watch the ‘America’s Culinary Cup’ Premiere

Wednesday nights are normally for “Survivor” and “The Amazing Race,” but CBS is switching it up this time around. After the three-hour premiere of “Survivor” 50 last week, it’s now time for the regularly scheduled programming to take over on Wednesday night.

“Survivor” will return to 90-minute episodes. That leaves another 90 minutes to fill. That is where Padma and these 16 chefs come into play.

The series premiere of “America’s Culinary Cup” takes place on Wednesday, March 4, at 9:30 p.m. ET/PT on CBS. New, 90-minute episodes will air every Wednesday at that time, with them being able to stream on Paramount+ the next day.

How Does ‘America’s Culinary Cup’ Work?

This is a new show, a new cooking competition, but how does it work? In the first look video, the “Top Chef” alum teases that the show will feature “16 of the most elite chefs in America, the most decorated group to ever compete against each other, invited to the ultimate culinary battleground.”

With Lakshmi returning to reality TV after she departed from “Top Chef,” it only seems fitting that we have the best of the best competing on her new show.

Lakshmi is the creator, host, and executive producer of this invitation-only series. The show also features chefs Michael Cimarusti and Wylie Dufresne, who will be serving as judges.

The show’s official description states these 16 elite chefs will be tested on 10 “culinary commandments” during the season. Those categories include meat, vegetables, sauces, dessert, innovation, flavors, sustainability, world cuisine, consistency, culinary science, and technology.

It goes on to say that these “commandments” represent “the very principles that define greatness in the kitchen.”

“America’s Culinary Cup” season 1 airs on Wednesdays at 9:30 p.m. ET on CBS with new episodes available to stream the next day on Paramount+.
