‘The Way Home’ Returns Tonight & Hallmark Hints at Big Changes Ahead

Hallmark fans have been patiently waiting for season 4 of “The Way Home” to debut, and it is finally time. The fourth and final season of the series premieres on Sunday, April 19, and Hallmark has shared some great teasers regarding what viewers can expect.

The Pond Draws Alice & Kat Back In

In an April 15 press release, Hallmark teased, “Compelling evidence leads Kat and Alice back to the pond as they unearth new family mysteries.” The title of the episode is “Show Me the Way to Go Home.”

During the April 19 season 4 premiere of “The Way Home,” Kat (Chyler Leigh) and Alice (Sadie Flamme-Snow) go to the pond hoping to find information about Elliot’s (Evan Williams) family history.

As Alice embraces graduatio and Kat focuses on Elliot, Del (Andie MacDowell) “begins life as an empty nester.”

Photos for the episode show Alice in her high school graduation cap and gown, surrounded by her loved ones.

In addition, during “The Way Home” season 4 premiere, “Kat and Elliot dream of the next steps for their relationship.”

Kat & Elliot Might Be Ready to Take the Next Step

Leigh talked to TV Fanatic about Kat’s personal growth and how it impacts her relationship with Elliot. “I think she’s very proud of herself to where she’s gotten, but the job isn’t done.”

She mentioned the lingering questions from the end of season 3. Leigh explained that in the episodes ahead, Kat is especially focused on helping Elliot find answers and closure.

“I’m so proud of Evan and the work that he did and for his storyline,” Leigh shared. She continued, “I’m so happy for Elliot and for the audience to see how strong that man is.”

In addition, Leigh pointed out, “Kat’s history with love has always been rather complicated and challenging.”

After struggling through the aftermath of her divorce, she “had to try to find her way.” Leigh noted, “Then ultimately, really understanding that that love was so true with Elliot.”

Leigh added that Kat is “just desperately wanting to be the one to give him answers and she can’t necessarily.” She teased that there will still be some “mysteries along the way.” However, the show does come full circle and provides answers.

When asked what she hopes fans take away from this season, Leigh said, “I think it would be never underestimate the importance and the power of evolving and moving forward, and that honestly we can’t change what’s happened to us.”

“We can only live in our moment right now and hope that we’re manifesting all the things that we want,” Leigh added.
