In just a few weeks, the fourth season of Hallmark‘s hit show “The Way Home” will finally be out.
But while the new installment will certainly be exciting for fans as they follow the Landry women in a whole new chapter, the season will be bittersweet as it’ll mark the final season too.
Is Season 4 the Last Season of “The Way Home”?
Unfortunately for loyal fans, season 4 will be the final season of “The Way Home.” The news was confirmed by Samantha DiPippo, SVP of programming at Hallmark Media, in an interview with People in November.
“Fans of The Way Home have enthusiastically watched and rewatched every episode since the first pond jump of season 1 as they’ve tried to piece together the brilliant puzzle Heather Conkie, Alexandra Clarke and Marly Reed expertly crafted,” DiPippo said in her announcement.
“We’re grateful to our talented cast led by Andie [MacDowell], Chyler [Leigh], Evan [Williams] and Sadie [Laflamme-Snow], as well as our amazing writers and crew who have worked so hard on this show.”
When Is Season 4 of ‘The Way Home’ Premiering?
A new season of “The Way Home” is right around the corner. Season 4 will premiere on Sunday, April 19, at 9/8c, on the Hallmark Channel. Episodes will be available to stream the next day on Hallmark+.
After the premiere, “The Way Home” will be dropping episodes weekly until the finale. All the prior seasons of “The Way Home” have had 10 episodes each, so season 4 will likely follow suit.
What Can Fans Expect From Season 4 of ‘The Way Home’?
In the synopsis from Hallmark for season, the network teased that while Alice (Laflamme-Snow) will be gearing up to graduate in season 4, and Kat (Leigh) and Elliot (Williams) will start to dream about their future together, a new adventure will be unlocked in season 4.
“New journeys and revelations await the Landry family across generations,” the description reads. “Del, Kat, Alice and Elliot should know by now that no matter how hard they try to focus on the future, the past is never gone.”
The synopsis continues, “As more mysteries are unearthed, the Port Haven of the past and the Landry family of generations before might just contain the answers they seek.”
In the teasers of the season so far, Kat visits a new era in the 1920s. “This is why I go back, to find your mom,” Kat tells in Elliot in one moment.
In another moment, Del screams for her late husband Colton (Jordan Doww), and convinces her son Jacob (Spencer MacPherson) to stay in another heartbreaking clip. “You don’t have to leave your family,” she says.
In addition to the returning cast outlined above, “The Way Home” will also see some new names. New cast members include Bianca Melchior as young Fern Landry, Gabriel Hogan as Grayson Goodwin, and Dan Jeannotte as Port Haven’s new Temperance Inspector Cliff Kane.
