“The Way Home” star Andie MacDowell has one role in particular that she treasures above all others. The Hallmark star shared a glimpse into that beloved role of hers in a recent social media post, and fans loved it.
Andie MacDowell Feels Lucky to Have 3 Granddaughters
On February 24, MacDowell took to Facebook to gush over her role as a grandmother. She posted a photo showing her holding one of her granddaughters, and the joy in her face was obvious.
“Me in my greatest role ever. Grandmother,” MacDowell wrote in the caption of her post.
MacDowell noted that she plans to stay active and fun loving, writing that she is “So lucky to have three precious granddaughters.”
In April 2025, MacDowell talked to People about being a grandmother. She made it clear that she doesn’t want to be called “granny,” and explained that one of her granddaughters came up with the name “Gaga” for her.
The nickname came from her granddaughter Cozette, whose parents are Justin Qualley, MacDowell’s son, and his wife, Nicolette.
She explained that “Gaga” emerged during a time when Qualley, his wife, and his daughter were visiting MacDowell. “She couldn’t really say anything else, but she was adamantly calling me Gaga, so I was okay with that,” she recalled.
“Whatever they want to call me, they can call me. As long as they don’t call me granny. That’s the only thing I said, ‘Don’t call me granny. I’m sorry that one’s out,” MacDowell revealed.
MacDowell’s Fans Adore How Much She Loves This Treasured Role
As MacDowell shared, she now has three granddaughters. In addition to Cozette, she noted in a November 2025 Facebook post that her son and daughter-in-law have another daughter named Josephine.
One of her daughters, Rainey Qualley, welcomed her first child, Bluebell, in December 2024. Justin, Rainey, and MacDowell’s other daughter, Margaret Qualley, are her children with her ex-husband, Paul Qualley.
Fans flooded the comment section of MacDowell’s Facebook post with love. In less than 24 hours, over 20,000 people had liked the post, and 550 people commented.
“Oh my GOSH – soooo precious and special. But you still don’t look like a grandmother – lolol – probably never will,” gushed one fan.
Another fan wrote, “I love it! Yes – the greatest role. Standing ovation. FYI: my grandkids call me YOYO.”
