Beloved ‘American Idol’ Winner Celebrates Her Anniversary with a New Release

Jordin Sparks is one of the most beloved “American Idol” winners in the history of the long-running series. This is thanks to songs such as “Not Air” and “One Step At a Time,” among many others. She marked her return to music in 2024 with the release of her “No Restrictions” album. Now, she has released a new video to celebrate the one-year anniversary.

Sparks took to her official X account on September 13 to announce the new video in celebration of “No Restrictions.” She wrote, “Can’t believe it’s been one year of ‘No Restrictions!’ Thank you so much for all the love on this album.”

Sparks continued, “To celebrate, I’m dropping a visualizer to ‘Admit It’, and it’s available now on YouTube!” Notably, “Admit It” is one of the fan favorite songs from the album.

‘No Restrictions’ Was Sparks’ First Album in Almost a Decade

Sparks won “American Idol” in 2007. Since then, she has released five studio albums, with “No Restrictions” being the latest. According to Rated R&B, the beloved singer released the album in September 2025.

The album consists of 15 songs, with the singles preceding its release being “Call My Name” and “Remember.” Notably, the latter of the two songs includes a Michael Jackson sample. On the album, Sparks explores a range of genres, including R&B and pop.

Fans of Sparks will recall that she began the “No Restrictions” era in 2023. However, as is often the case, it took her some time to complete and release the album. Though she had released new music in the years between, this was her first album since 2015’s “Right Here, Right Now.”

She Will Be in a New Movie

In addition to singing, Sparks is also an accomplished actress. Some of her films include 2012’s “Sparkle,” “Show Dogs,” and “Dear Secret Santa.” Now, according to Deadline, she’s set to appear in “Merry Little Mystery” for Roku. This was announced in July 2025.

She said to the outlet, “Working on Merry Little Mystery was such a beautiful moment in time. The entire filming process, cast and crew, and the City of Montreal were wonderful. Our director, Caroline [Labrèche], had a great vision, and I’m truly excited that my co-star Keon Alexander and I got to bring this story to life together.”

Sparks continued, “I enjoy doing holiday movies because they bring warmth and love that is yearned for. They make people smile, and we need more of that!”
