“American Idol” season 23 top 5 finalist Thunderstorm Artis is sharing some exciting career news with his fans. The singer took to Instagram to announce that he will be making his Grand Ole Opry debut on October 12.
“I CAN’T BELIEVE I’M WRITING THIS,” Artis began his caption. “I’m making my @opry debut Oct 12th. It’s been a dream of mine for so long. I can’t wait to stand on the stage where many amazing artists have stood before and make my mark.”
The singer concluded by writing, “God is good.”
Artis’ “Idol” family showed their love in the comments, as the official “American Idol” account wrote, “We are SO proud of you! 💙.” Season 23 runner-up John Foster shared his support as well, commenting, “This is so awesome my bro! ❤️🙌.”
Artis replied to Foster’s comment, telling him, “Thanks brother … I’m gonna have to ask you for some tips and tricks.” Foster has already appeared on the Opry stage three times since “Idol” wrapped in May.
Thunderstorm Artis Recently Celebrated Another Career Win
Since appearing on “American Idol,” Artis has been steadily making music as well as career moves. On August 20, he shared in an Instagram post that he had signed on with the management team The War and Treaty.
“Super excited to be signed with @thewarandtreaty management team,” Artis wrote, adding, “we’re going to take this industry by a storm.”
The singer has been active on social media this summer, posting snippets of new songs that he’s been working on. On August 26, Artis posted a reel of him singing an upbeat tune, which got the stamp of approval from “American Idol” artist in residence Jelly Roll. “This is dope,” he commented.
Artis Makes Time for His Family As Well
Artis and his wife, Faith, are the parents of two adorable little boys, Ezekiel, born in 2022, and Zion, born in 2024. And while the couple loves their children, they made some time this summer to take a vacation alone as a couple.
In a video posted to Instagram, Artis explained the importance of having alone time with one’s partner. “Sometimes we kind of feel guilty for leaving our kids behind, but like, it is so worth it.”
He explained, “When you have an amazing couple relationship, we’re able to love our kids even better.” Because their children are so young, Artis and Faith are still perfecting their parenting style, as Artis captioned the post, “Just a little something on our heart that we wanted to share as we are new to this and learning it ourselves.”
