Interested in watching “Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End” on Netflix, Hulu or Amazon Prime Video? Well, whether you can or not is actually a bit complicated and depends on where you live. In the United States, Crunchyroll will be the first platform to stream season 2.
The details for each streaming service are listed below.
How to Watch ‘Frieren’ Season 2 on Netflix
Currently, you can watch season 1 of “Frieren” on Netflix. But this won’t be the same for season 2 if you’re in the United States.
According to the official Netflix Anime account on X, season 2 will begin streaming on Netflix on January 16, but only “in select regions of Asia.” This means if you’re in the United States, you won’t have access to season 2 on Netflix yet.
One of the regions where Netflix will be streaming season 2 is in Japan, according to Netflix Japan’s official X account, but it won’t premiere there until January 17.
Frieren didn’t begin streaming its first season on Netflix until March 1, 2025, about a year after season 1 ended. So don’t expect season 2 to be available on Netflix any time soon if you’re in the U.S.
How to Watch ‘Frieren’ Season 2 on Hulu
The official “Frieren” website lists Hulu as a streaming option for the new season, buit it only links to Hulu Japan.
Even though season 1 is on Hulu in the U.S., the story is the same as for Netflix. It’s not listed on Hulu’s schedule for January 2026 premieres. And season 1 didn’t even premiere on Hulu until April 2025 (a month after it dropped on Netflix, and more than a year after it concluded on Crunchyroll.) So don’t expect season 2 on Hulu anytime soon, even though it will be available there eventually.
Can You Watch ‘Frieren’ Season 2 on Amazon Prime?
Frieren’s official website also lists Amazon Prime as an option for watching the second season, but it only links to Amazon Prime in Japan. If you’re in the United States, you will likely be able to subscribe to Crunchyroll via Prime Video and watch “Frieren” that way, if you prefer watching through the Prime Video app or website. You can try it out via a free seven-day trial before committing.
The simplest way to watch season 2 in the United States is via Crunchyroll. New episodes will premiere at this link starting at 7 a.m. Pacific on Friday, January 16.
