The 2nd Season Premieres Earlier in Japan Than on Crunchyroll
According to Frieren’s official website, each episode airs 11 p.m. every Friday JST on the Nippon Television Network (30 stations across the country), and then begins streaming in Japan on various channels at midnight. This means that “Frieren” will be on TV in Japan about an hour before it’s available on Crunchyroll. So if you see people in Japan talking about the episode before it’s available for you, that’s why.
News about season 2 was first announced during the Frieren panel at the Anime Expo 2025 in July. The news was a surprise announcement during the event.
The series is based on the award-winning manga by Kanehito Yamada and Tsukasa Abe. Keiichiro Saito directed the anime at studio MADHOUSE for season 1. Tomoya Kitagawa is the director for season 2.
You can watch “Frieren” on Crunchyroll at this link. It airs on Crunchyroll in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, CIS and India.
