“Big Brother” star Azah Awasum stunned audiences with her rendition of the national anthem at the Packers-Ravens game on Saturday, December 27.
Hear Azah Awasum’s Incredible Performance
Earlier on the day of the performance, Azah posted on Instagram to announce her news. “You might see a new face tonight on Peacock! Excited to be singing the national anthem at the Packers-Ravens game today,” she wrote.
Azah, who’s known for her third-place finish on “Big Brother” season 23, then thanked radio host Natalie Jansen and her fellow “Cookout” alliance member Xavier Prather “for making this happen,” although she didn’t give any further specifics.
The Baltimore native, who also competed on CBS’ “The Challenge: USA” season 1, looked stunning during her performance. She wore a white coatdress and her short, curly hair was perfectly styled.
During the climax of Azah’s performance, while singing “and the rockets’ red glare,” red fireworks went off over Lambeau Field, prompting cheers from the fans watching live. After the final note, the audience erupted into a well-deserved round of applause.
Unfortunately, Azah learned after the performance that Peacock had not aired the moment, according to another Instagram post, so fans watching on the streamer missed her gorgeous rendition. Luckily, some people have shared the video on social media sites like X (fka Twitter), and Azah posted a clip on her Instagram story.
‘Big Brother’ Alumni Shared Support
CBS“Big Brother” players from Azah’s season and others rushed to share their excitement in her comments section. Hannah Chaddha, who was aligned with Azah for most of “Big Brother” season 23, wrote, “So proud of you Az (go big sis go big sis go)!!!”
Britni D’Angelo, who was on the Jokers team with Azah at the start of the season, wrote in all caps, “STUNNING❤️ She’s READY!!!”
Tiffany Mitchell and Azah competed together on “The Challenge: USA” after forming “The Cookout” together on “Big Brother,” so their close relationship is to be expected. Tiffany commented on two posts, first sharing the heart-eyes emoji, then writing, “First of all you look fabulous darling! Now the way I was scoping peacock looking for the national anthem, I was a top tier investigator. The one time I’m like WHY is the anthem not televised!”
Natalie Negrotti competed on “Big Brother” five seasons before Azah, but she, too shared a kind message on Instagram. “This outfit,” she wrote, followed by the heart-eyes emoji. Natalie later became one of the first “Big Brother” players to compete on MTV’s “The Challenge,” paving the way for Azah and others.
Claire Rehfuss wrote, “She IS the moment!!!!” Josh Martinez, winner of “Big Brother” season 19, shared the hands-clapping emoji.
Congratulations to Azah!
