Amanda Batula was as anxious as you thought she’d be heading into the “Summer House” Season 10 reunion. In a new clip shared by Bravo on TikTok, the swimwear designer says she’s “ready to face the chaos and clear everything up.”
That doesn’t mean she thinks it will be a good time, though. “This is, obviously, the most nervous I have ever been, easily,” she told Bravo ahead of the taping, where Batula caught heat for her controversial relationship with castmate West Wilson.
Amanda Wants the Timeline to Be Clear
The primary thing Batula wanted to get across at the reunion was the timeline of her relationship with Wilson. “There was no affair. Nothing malicious,” she says. She brushes off speculation that either party cheated on former partners, explaining she and Wilson are “just two people who had feelings for each other that shouldn’t have.”
Batula and Wilson first revealed they had developed feelings for each other in a joint Instagram story earlier this year, shocking fans of the reality show.
“As our feelings evolved, we wanted to take time to understand exactly what we were feeling,” West and Batula shared on March 31 three weeks ahead of the reunion. “We also recognize that this has had an impact beyond just us and never wanted our actions to cause any hurt or be perceived as careless. We truly appreciate the understanding and respect as we navigate this.”
The pair have yet to publicly put a label on their relationship, but left the reunion together and are still dating.
Season 10 showed Batula and her husband, Kyle Cooke, at their breaking point, with several explosive fights caught on camera. In the premiere of the “Summer House” spinoff “In the City,” Batula told the Loverboy founder she wanted to live apart on the couple’s fourth wedding anniversary.
However, it wasn’t Batula moving on from Cooke that caused the most controversy; it was who she chose to move on with. Season 10 found Wilson revisiting his on-again, off-again relationship with castmate Ciara Miller, who viewers saw champion Batula and encourage her to want more out of life. The flirtation culminated in a kiss on the show’s season finale, and Miller was optimistic about the prospects of rekindling their relationship.
Where Amanda and Ciara Stand
“I know that I might not be able to make amends with everyone, but I’m hoping that after I say my piece and clear everything up, people will be able to walk away with more understanding,” Batula says in the clip. “Hopefully, there’s some people I can move forward with. I know it won’t all be forgiveness, but I’m hoping there will be a path forward in some capacity.”
Whatever Batula said during the reunion was clearly not enough to mend her relationship with Miller. In a recent interview, the nurse-turned-model confirmed that the pair’s friendship is over, saying, “Yeah, for sure. Yeah. I wouldn’t do this to my worst enemy.”
The three-part “Summer House” reunion kicks off Tuesday, May 26, on Bravo with new episodes of “In the City” following.
