The Bravo star Luke Gulbranson spoke up about the relationship between West Wilson and Amanda Batula. He kept his position grounded in personal values, not judgment.
Wilson and Batula, recently confirmed their relationship, which drew attention because Wilson previously dated their co-star Ciara Miller.
Gulbranson appeared on the TMZ Podcast on April 24 and addressed the situation head-on. His central point was simple: communication matters first.
“I do believe in a bro code,” Gulbranson said on the TMZ Podcast. He added that if strong feelings were involved, he would speak with a friend directly and ask for a “blessing” before moving forward.
“There’s a lot of fish in the sea, and I know that sounds a little cliché, but the truth is, I mean, you know, you can find a partner. There’s a lot of people to choose from,” he said on the podcast.
He also acknowledged the weight the situation carries for everyone involved. “But just like the way that this all went down, I know I would never do it, ever, and I feel bad for everybody,” he said, referring to those connected to the group, calling it “an emotional rollercoaster,” according to the podcast.
Gulbranson kept his comments measured. He spoke only to how he would handle a similar situation, and left space for each person to find their footing.
West Wilson, Ciara Miller and Amanda Batula speak ahead of the reunion
GettyWilson and Batula confirmed their relationship March 31 in a joint statement on Instagram Stories, after both said they had moved on from prior situations separately before getting together, according to People.
Wilson addressed the timeline on his YouTube podcast “Show Me Something” April 20, saying both he and Batula were single when they got together and that there was no overlap with prior relationships.
The statement came amid questions from castmates and viewers about how quickly the relationship developed after his split from Miller and Batula’s separation from husband Kyle Cooke in January.
The two had a friendship before the relationship became romantic. That prior closeness has drawn both understanding from some castmates and scrutiny from others, including “Southern Hospitality” star Mia Alario, who raised questions about the timeline on “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen,” according Page Six.
Wilson acknowledged the fallout, saying his actions ‘have hurt people I care about’ and that he plans to address the situation directly at the reunion, according to People.
Batula broke her silence April 10 in an Instagram Story, apologizing to everyone she had “disappointed and hurt” and saying she would address all questions at the reunion, according to EntertainmentNow.
Miller, Batula, and Wilson have all played out their relationships in public view. Each is now navigating the fallout in their own way before the reunion puts all of them in the same room.
Luke Gulbranson talks respect and growth ahead of reunion
GettyAs the “Summer House” reunion approaches, cast members are focused on what comes next rather than relitigating the past.
Gulbranson, when asked whether he thinks the Wilson-Batula relationship will last, gave a measured answer. “I don’t know,” he said, according to the TMZ Podcast. He then offered his own philosophy: after ending a long relationship, he said he would take time for himself before starting something new.
He offered no judgment of Wilson’s choices, the comment was framed as personal preference, not criticism.
Miller, meanwhile, has spoken publicly about how she is preparing for the reunion. In an interview with Glamour, she said she is thinking about how she presents herself on camera. “I just think about what’s a proper representation of who I am right now,” Miller said.
She also described what it is like to process a painful situation while being watched. “It’s one thing to experience hurt behind closed doors; to experience it so publicly is like another layer,” she told Glamour.
Gulbranson closed his comments on a supportive note. “I’m excited for Ciara,” he said. “I hope she’s ready to boogie,” according to TMZ Podcast.
The reunion will give everyone an opportunity to speak directly. How those conversations unfold will shape what comes next for the group.
