“Below Deck” fans got a treat when it was revealed that beloved “Below Deck Sailing Yacht” stars Captain Glenn Shephard and Colin MacRae have reunited. The two yachties came together for a reunion years in the making, but sadly, it won’t be on television.
Colin MacRae and Captain Glenn Shephard Reunite Years After ‘Below Deck Sailing Yacht’
It’s been nearly three years since Shephard and MacRae were on Bravo together. Despite not working together since “Below Deck Sailing Yacht” Season 4, which filmed in 2022 and aired on Bravo in 2023, the two men remain the closest of friends.
Despite his life-changing injury, MacRae traveled to France with his girlfriend, Brittany Amodeo, where they met up with Shephard. Taking to Instagram, MacRae gave fans a look at the long-awaited reunion.
Four photos made up the social media share. There are a couple of MacRae and Shephard in their element on a yacht, smiling. Amodeo posed with them in another photo, and the final picture was a group shot from a meal.
“Catching up in France! Just laugh non stop when I’m around this guy 🤣,” read the caption on MacRae’s Instagram post.
In another Instagram message, MacRae posted photos of him and Amodeo on their way to France for the International Multihull Boat Show in La Grande-Motte.
Fans were thrilled to see Shephard and MacRae together again and flooded the comments to gush over this happy moment, as did one of their co-stars.
“Coupla legends, miss yall 🫶🏻” shared former “Below Deck Sailing Yacht” star Alex Propson. A fan declared, “Love seeing you together again! Wishing you a speedy and complete recovery, Colin ❤️🩹.”
One fan added, “Awe ❤️😍 love this reunion.” Several fans held out hope this was a glimpse at “Below Deck Sailing Yacht” Season 6.
“Good To See 👀 You, Colin With Captain Glenn……..Is This A Sneak Preview For The Next Season Of BDSY⛵️?👍😀,” asked a fan. A different fan stated, “Below deck sailing yacht season 6! ❤️.”
Another fan gushed, “Glen and Colin the dream team 👌🏼.” “Totally cool to see you guys hanging out,” expressed a fan.
The Future of ‘Below Deck Sailing Yacht’
While Shephard chimed in to share his excitement for the possibility of another “Below Deck Sailing Yacht” season with MacRae, there is no confirmation that the “Below Deck” spin-off is coming back.
The sailing show was the second spin-off in the “Below Deck” franchise and became a huge success following Season 2, which featured MacRae, Daisy Kelliher, and Gary King for the first time. Along with Shephard, the three department heads became fan favorites.
However, a falling out between King, MacRae, and Kelliher when the latter two dated put a damper on their tight friendship. MacRae left after Season 4, while Kelliher and King returned for a dramatic Season 5.
Aside from the on-screen drama with the three friends, King was accused of sexual misconduct after Season 5 had been filmed. The allegation delayed the season’s airing on Bravoo. Since then, there has been no word on the show’s future.
Bravo has not officially canceled it, but no new season has been filmed since Season 5. MacRae has moved on to sailing the world on his own Catamaran, while Shephard has been working in the yachting industry and traveling with his girlfriend, Danelis “Dani” Jimenez.
Kelliher moved over to “Below Deck Down Under” for Season 4 to work with Captain Jason Chambers, and King has stayed out of the public eye amid allegations against him.
The sailing yacht used for the reality TV show, Parsifal III, was reportedly sold last year, adding more speculation that “Below Deck Sailing Yacht” may be done for good.
