Lisa Vanderpump’s Beloved Nephew Bravely Reveals Heartbreaking Health Diagnosis at 28

Sam Vanderpump, the 28-year-old star of “Made in Chelsea” and nephew of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Lisa Vanderpump, has revealed he’s been diagnosed with irreversible end-stage liver disease. The reality star shared the emotional news after surviving a near-fatal health scare that left him hospitalized with liver and kidney failure as well as life-threatening sepsis.

“There is no hope of my liver getting better,” Sam told co-star Ollie Locke in a recent episode of the Channel 4 series, as reported by US Weekly. “He said I wouldn’t be having this call with you if I thought you could make it through the next four or five years.” The reality personality explained that doctors are now preparing him for a liver-transplant evaluation, which could be his only chance for long-term survival.

A Near-Death Experience That Changed Everything

Earlier this year, Sam was rushed to Chelsea and Westminster Hospital after his fiancée, Alice Yaxley, called an ambulance. What started as flu-like symptoms quickly escalated into total organ failure. “I didn’t think I was going to survive or see the outside of the hospital again,” he recalled of the terrifying ordeal.

Doctors later discovered that a genetic liver condition had gone undetected for years until an infection triggered a full collapse of his liver and kidneys. Though he’s now stable, Sam continues to face uncertainty as he awaits transplant approval.

A New Chapter for Sam & Alice

The diagnosis arrived at a pivotal time in Sam’s life. He and his fiancée, Alice Yaxley, are expecting their first child together and recently announced their engagement. Remaining hopeful, Sam said, “The way I look at it is I’m healthy now. Hopefully, I’ll remain healthy until I get a call, go in for surgery, and wake up healthier.”

Since his recovery, Sam has become an ambassador for the UK Sepsis Trust, using his platform to raise awareness about organ donation and the importance of early detection. His openness about his condition has inspired many fans to learn more about transplant registration.

Fans & Family Rally Around Him

Support poured in across social media after Sam’s emotional revelation aired. One fan wrote, “Praying Sam Vanderpump gets a healthy transplant successfully and lives a full and healthy life for himself, Alice & his baby.” Another said, “Oh my gosh, watching ‘Made in Chelsea’ and it got so sad with Sam Vanderpump’s news.”

The NHS Organ Donation team also shared a message of support online, writing that they hoped Sam’s courage would inspire more people to sign up as donors.

Despite the challenges ahead, Sam remains positive, focusing on gratitude and the hope of returning to full health to watch his child grow up.
