From Bravo Star to CEO: Oriana Schneps Talks Yachting, Mentorship, and Captain Kerry

Oriana Schneps first made waves on “Below Deck Adventure” as Captain Kerry Titheradge’s hardworking second stew, but she’s long since traded cabin service for CEO status.

Oriana Schneps on Building The Yacht Edit and Inspiring the Next Generation

Since leaving the Bravo franchise, Schneps has transformed her passion for yachting into The Yacht Edit, a global media company that produces high-end content for charter yachts, builders, and brokerages worldwide.

“Working in both luxury yachting and maritime education allows me to stay connected to the industry I love while inspiring young people to explore opportunities they may not even know exist,” she told the “Above Deck Podcast.”

Her entrepreneurial vision has taken her from the Faroe Islands to Monaco, Dubai, the Caribbean, and Europe’s largest boat shows, where she documents luxury vessels and elevates the industry’s marketing efforts. But Schneps isn’t just chasing glamour—she’s giving back.

Through her partnership with Captain Sandy’s Charities, she leverages her media expertise to support educational programs, helping middle and high school students explore maritime careers, from deckhands to marine biologists.

“Partnering with Captain Sandy’s Charities has been incredibly rewarding because we can show students the real, hands-on side of maritime careers,” she added.

Her Time on ‘Below Deck Adventure’ and Relationship With Captain Kerry

Reflecting on her Bravo experience, Schneps admits it was intimidating at first to work under Captain Kerry.

“At first, I was really intimidated, I guess, and I didn’t really know what his way of working was. He can come off pretty harsh. He runs a tight ship when he wants to or when he needs to, and that can be really intimidating for new crew,” she told the podcast.

But over time, the two developed a lasting friendship. “As the season went on … I really started to understand how he leads and what his ethos is about. And we’re still friends today. I just was talking to him earlier today, actually. I still call him for advice and he talks me through things.”

Schneps also praised the adventure-focused spin on the series, which took viewers to stunning Norwegian fjords in 2022.

“Norway was beautiful. It was absolutely stunning,” she said. “So much of yachting is beautiful, sandy beaches, palm trees, warm climates. And then you realize, oh my God, there’s this whole other side of it.”

Like many Bravo stars, Schneps had to adjust to the mix of work and reality TV. “None of us knew what we were doing. It was so unfamiliar … we were just running around with our heads cut off,” she admitted. Still, she loved the overall experience, adding, “I absolutely would do another season of reality TV … if it was the right place, the right time, 100% would consider doing it again.”

And in a twist fit for a Bravo storyline, Schneps revealed she dated a charter guest after filming wrapped. “We actually dated for like a year and a half, two years. We’re no longer together, shockingly,” she joked.
