Scheana Shay Says She Hopes to Rebuild a Friendship With Ariana Madix

Scheana Shay recently revealed she’s still hopeful she and former best friend Ariana Madix can reach a better place. As fans can recall, their fallout occurred after “Scandoval” on season 11 of Bravo’s “Vanderpump Rules. Shay sought to forgive and reconnect with Madix’s ex, Tom Sandoval, which caused a rift in their friendship.

In a March 13 episode of her “Scheananigans” podcast, Shay spoke from the heart, saying that with her life at a better place, she hoped she and Madix could one day find healing.

Scheana Shay Shares Update on Rekindling Friendship With Ariana Madix

Scheana Shay is hopeful that she and Ariana Madix can work towards being friends again. During the March 13 episode of her “Scheananigans” podcast, Shay was asked whether she would try to “salvage any old friendships, some that were like family,” and she quickly realized that question was referring to Madix.

Shay began by explaining that she’s been working on becoming the “best version” of herself, something she says involves owning when she’s wrong and learning how to be a “bigger girl’s girl.” She added that this kind of self-awareness is something that took her 40 years to truly understand.

“I would hope that over time, our paths might go back towards each other in some way, but I also completely understand why she has boundaries and could be skeptical about fully letting me back into her life,” she said about Madix. “So I can only hope that my actions and my words moving forward are enough for that because she went through hell,” she added.

“We can text a little here and there, follow each other on social media, be happy for each other. And I can only hope that one day we are back being a bigger part of each other’s lives,” Shay said.

Shay Shares Where Her Friendships Stand with Stassi Schroeder & Katie Maloney

In the same podcast episode, Shay was also asked about her current friendship status with Stassi Schroeder. On “Vanderpump Rules,” the two had a notoriously up-and-down relationship, and it doesn’t appear that much has changed over the years.

“Not as much,” Shay shared when asked if she kept in touch with Schroder. However, she did share that the women recently “had a good laugh” when Shay received a fake missed call from Schroeder.

“I had missed a call from her, and I thought that was odd. And so instead of calling her back, I texted her … and I was like ‘Hey, I just had a missed call from you. Is everything okay?’ … She was like, ‘What? I didn’t call you.’ I screenshot it. I sent it to her. We’re going back and forth,” she shared.

She continued, “And it was this crazy thing that I guess certain hackers do to get you to call back, to confirm that it was that person’s phone number. So we had a good laugh about that, but that was pretty much it.”

When it comes to Katie Maloney, Shay revealed that the two had a “whole rekindling friendship storyline” that ultimatley didn’t make it on season 9 of VPR.

However, their friendship came to a halt when she “was not Team Katie” as Maloney was going through a divorce from Tom Schwartz. Shay called it “a regret of mine” and “one that I apologized for.”

“She is the definition of a ride or die loyal girls’ girl friend. And I wish I realized that more back then,” Shay said.
