Never-Before-Seen Photos From ‘The Holiday’

Director Nancy Meyers celebrated 19 years of her beloved Christmas rom-com “The Holiday” by surprising fans with a set of never-before-seen photos from the set. She captioned her post, which she shared on Instagram, “Thank you for tagging me in all of your posts about The Holiday. I love them all. Here’s some photos you might enjoy. Wishing you a wonderful Christmas!”

The set includes six shots featuring stars including Cameron Diaz, Kate Winslet, Jack Black, Jude Law, and more.

Kate Winslet & Cameron Diaz Previously Discussed What Making ‘The Holiday’ Was Like

In a 2006 interview, Winslet and Diaz discussed the film. “You know, I’d never done this before. This genre, romantic comedy and playing a contemporary English person. It was quite horrifying how intimidating that felt. I didn’t have anything to hide behind at all, and it took a little bit of getting used to.”

Winslet, who was known at the time for dominating period dramas such as “Titanic” and “Sense and Sensibility,” recalled that it was “very weird” not to have an accent or a wig. She also said she felt a panic at the question of “Can I be funny?”

Diaz talked about how Meyers’ writing helped make the film great, saying, “She puts everything in there. She’s so honest. The characters are so well-rounded. They’re so real. These aren’t women who you can’t relate to or you don’t see yourself in. They really are normal, real women. We all do have those moments where we just turn on the radio and dance.” The actress was likely referencing her character’s unbridled dance scene to the enduring hit “Mr. Brightside” by The Killers.

Nancy Meyers Fondly Remembered Diane Keaton Earlier This Year

Meyers took to her Instagram two days after the unexpected loss of 79-year-old Diane Keaton on October 11, 2025 to pay tribute to the star, whom she directed in a total of four films. Those included 1987’s “Baby Boom,” 1991’s “Father of the Bride” and its 1995 sequel, and 2003’s “Something’s Gotta Give.”

Meyers said the 48 hours since learning of Keaton’s death had “not been easy,” but said she was drawing comfort from looking at all the tributes flooding in from fans. Keaton died of pneumonia, People first reported.

She went on to call Keaton “a giant” and said her friend of almost 40 years “felt like a sister.” She also mourned, “As a filmmaker, I’ve lost a connection with an actress that one can only dream of. We all search for that someone who really gets us, right?”
