Dolly Parton fans were sent into panic mode after the beloved musician shared a cryptic message to social media.
The country artist has been dealing with ongoing health issues, and fans were convinced she had passed.

Parton shared a beautiful photo of herself to social media on Thursday, May 14. However, fans were immediately struck by the idea that the image was an obituary for the “9 to 5” artist.
“The way I see it, if you want the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain. ❤️” the captioned read.
Immediately, the comments section was flooded with fans begging the star not to “scare” them again.
“I just had a panic attack,” one follower wrote.
“i thought the lord called you home, diva 😩” another commented.

Parton shared a recent health update after canceling her Las Vegas residency.
“Well, hey there. It’s Dolly, and I’m here to give you an update on a few things going on in my life,” the icon said in a video shared via Instagram on May 4. “First, it’s concerning my health. And I have some good news and a little bad news. But the good news is I’m responding really well to meds and treatments, and I’m improving every day.”
She continued, “The bad news is, it’s going to take me a little while before I’m up to stage performance level because some of the meds and treatments make me a little bit swimmy headed, as my grandma used to say.”
Parton promised that upon her return, she will be back in her iconic five-inch heels.
“Not to mention all those heavy rhinestone outfits, the big hair, my big…personality” she teased. “Lord knows that would make anybody swimmy headed. But just think of me as like an old classic car. Once restored, can be better than ever.”
She added, “But when they raised the hood on this old antique, they realized that I need to rebuild my engine, and that my transmission is slipping. My oil pan is leaking, and my muffler’s busted, and my shocks and pistons need to be replaced.”
Parton explained that she’s always had issues with kidney stones, but is now dealing with an “out of whack” immune system and digestive system.
“Hopefully, I’ll be up to snuff again soon,” she said. “They say that a happy heart is like a good medicine.”
Famous friends like Reese Witherspon and Christie Brinkley sent their well-wishes.
“Take good care of yourself, Dolly ! 🩷✨We need you & your music !” Reese commented.
