Country Singer, 37, Opens Up About Scary Health Emergency: Fans Send Support

Country singer Gabby Mooney revealed details of a terrifying 2023 health emergency that nearly took her life.

Inside Gabby Mooney’s Near-Death Experience

Mooney, 37, explained that she was suffering from a terrible headache while driving home to Arkansas.

“This one was so pounding that I could barely see the road, but I remember thinking, I’m just going to keep driving,” Mooney told ABC’s “Nightline” correspondent Ashan Singh, as seen in an October 30 Instagram video. “You’re going to feel so much better in your own bed. And I just wanted to make it home.”

She went on to explain that after making it home and falling asleep, she recalls being woken up by her worried mother.

“She’s like, ‘Ah, I think we need to take you to the hospital,'” she continued. “And I said, ‘No, no, no, I’m good.’ And she said I started having seizures. It was tornado weather, so the ambulances were not running. And so my dad and my mom they called a private ambulance company, and they met them at a Baptist church about a few miles up the road, so they could get me to the ER faster. I was having apparently multiple seizures in the ambulance.”

Mooney was later diagnosed with a colloidal brain cyst that nearly turned tragic.

“They were trying to intubate me, and I flatlined.”

Through her faith, the “James Dean” singer was able to pull through, telling ABC, “It was just like, ‘Not yet.’ And I felt that, knowing it was not my time. It was just this communication between me and the Father.”

“It felt the most peaceful, incredible feeling I had ever felt in my life,” she added.

Gabby Mooney Reveals the Signs She Ignored

Mooney took to Instagram on November 6 to share a light-hearted reflection on the signs she ignored ahead of her diagnosis.

“The signs: 1. I couldn’t remember lyrics on stage to save my life. I had to keep an iPad in front of me even for the songs I had just written,” she began in her caption. “2. I had headaches all the time. I passed them off as allergies cuz I lived in Nashville and that’s super common. 3. I passed out and broke my nose the year before surgery. My friend @hatefaesthetics set it for me and told me I needed to go get checked out. Did I do that? Nope.”
