Netflix premiered “Emily in Paris” in 2020. The show quickly became a surprise hit for the streamer and most recently aired its 5th season in December 2025. Now, as the show has entered production for season six, the streaming giant has announced that it will be the final installment.

Per Variety, creator Darren Star said, “Making ‘Emily in Paris’ with this extraordinary cast and crew has been the trip of a lifetime.”

He continued, “As we embark on the final season, I am so grateful to Netflix, Paramount, and, most importantly, the fans who have taken this incredible journey with us. We can’t wait to share this last chapter with you. Thank you for letting us be a part of your lives, inspiring your dreams of travel and your love of Paris. We will always have ‘Emily in Paris!'”

“Emily in Paris” season five premiered on Netflix on December 19, 2025, with all 10 episodes releasing at once. This came after season four premiered in August 2024, with part one, followed by the second part in September. According to Deadline, the series remained popular in its 5th season despite being down a tad.

The series debuted at number 2 on the streamer’s English Language chart. It delivered 13.5 million viewers in its first weekend on the platform. For comparison, season four drew 19.9 million viewers for its debut. Netflix spared no cost in promoting the latest season of “Emily in Paris.”

The streamer hosted a 24-hour Venice Simplon-Orient-Express train journey from Venice to Paris for the press. During it, they interacted with some of the cast, had a three-course dinner, and had a late-night afterparty. There was also a press conference aboard the train.

Additionally, a premiere was held at Le Grand Rex in Paris, Europe’s largest theater. There was also a great deal more social media promotion for “Emily in Paris” season five.
