Netflix is home to several popular shows and movies, including “Emily in Paris.” Now, the streaming giant has renewed the well-liked series for its sixth season. This comes after its fifth season premiered in December 2025, delivering strong viewership and social media reactions.
‘Emily in Paris’ Left Off on a Cliffhanger
According to Deadline, Netflix announced it was renewing “Emily in Paris” on January 5. Naturally, this makes many fans breathe a sigh of relief as season five ended with some notable cliffhangers, including one big one for Mindy, played by Ashley Park.
Regarding season five, Netflix released all 10 episodes on December 18, 2025. Per Deadline, the season proved successful, reaching number two on Netflix’s English series charts for the week of December 15 to 21. It drew in 13.5 million viewers during its initial weekend of release.
The main cast of “Emily in Paris” includes Lily Collins, Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, Ashley Park, Lucas Bravo, Samuel Arnold, Bruno Gouery, Lucien Laviscount, and William Abadie.
Park spoke to Deadline about the season five finale. She said, “Mindy’s never chosen the easier path for herself. In past seasons, to,o she’s always picked the harder path for herself when she knows it’s the right path.
I think because maybe this rift with Emily softened her, I don’t want to say weakened her, she kind of just wants to choose the easy path. And we see her make decisions in a spontaneous way that maybe she shouldn’t.”
It’s currently unclear when they will begin production on the new season of “Emily in Paris.” However, it’s worth noting that they filmed season five between May and August 2025. Additionally, all seasons of the series except the first and the fourth premiered in December, making a December 2025 premiere likely.
The Show’s Creator Recently Spoke About a Possible Season 6
Fans of “Emily in Paris” were fairly confident that the show would be renewed for another season. This is partly due to the way season five ended. Additionally, the show’s creator, Darren Star, spoke in December about where the story could go in the future.
Per Netflix, he said, “There’s a lot of places I’d love to visit. But I think the show organically [follows] the storyline. The show is Emily in Paris. It’s never going to permanently leave its home base. But if I can take the audience on a journey somewhere else, I would love that … [It’s] fun to think about.”
“Emily in Paris” premiered on Netlfix in October 2020.
