Former “Dancing With the Stars” pro Kym Johnson and husband Robert Herjavec, who met while competing together on the dance series, gushed about their relationship after nearly a decade of marriage.
The pair sat down with Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos during the Friday, February 13, episode of “Live! With Kelly and Mark.”
“Actually, it’s a funny story. Before I walked in the door, they say your celebrity is in there, but they don’t tell you who it is. So I walk in, and you have no idea. I actually didn’t know who Robert was,” Johnson laughed as she recalled meeting her now-husband.
She added, “But I knew he was lovely. It definitely took a while, but he was persistent.”

“For me, it was like right away,” the “Shark Tank” star told Ripa and Consuelos. “It was my charm.”
Johnson agreed, before adding that Herjavec was charismatic and his “personality” ultimately won her over.
“Well, Robert had kept asking me out for dinner,” she explained. “I remember he asked me out for dinner one rehearsal and I said yes straight away.”
The entrepreneur recalled being “so excited” that Johnson agreed to a date, only to be “crushed” when she changed her mind.
“I had this whole dinner planned and we’re rehearsing for hours,” he gushed. “I’m just waiting for the rehearsal to be over. And then it’s over and I’m thinking, ‘OK, where are we going to go?'”
According to Johnson, she didn’t want to “cross the line.”
“I actually shouldn’t go for dinner with him,” she said. “So, at the end of rehearsals, I said, ‘Oh, about dinner. I’m sorry, but I can’t go. I’ll see you tomorrow.”
Herjavec didn’t give up, however. The pair ended up attending a friend’s vow renewal ceremony together, which Johnson claimed changed everything.

Johnson and Herjavec met in 2015 after being paired together during season 20 of “Dancing With the Stars.” By February 2016, they were engaged!
“I still can’t believe that a year after walking into a dance studio of all places, my life has changed this much,” Herjavec told People at the time. “Kym is an incredible woman and I’m just so excited for what the future brings for us.”
After tying the knot in July 2016, Johnson gave birth to the couple’s twins, son Hudson and daughter Haven, in April 2018.
