Robert Irwin is proudly cheering on his sister Bindi as she continues to inspire others with her strength, resilience, and openness about her health journey.
During a recent appearance at the Disney 2026 Upfront event on May 12 in New York City, Irwin told PEOPLE Magazine that he is encouraged by his sister’s bravery. Additionally, he’s proud to stand beside her as she uses her voice to support others facing similar health challenges.
Robert Irwin Calls Sister Bindi ‘Amazing’
While speaking to PEOPLE Magazine at the Disney 2026 Upfront event, Robert Irwin turned the discussion to his sister Bindi Irwin, who has navigated a battle with endometriosis for the past several years. The wildlife conservationist praised his sibling’s willingness to discuss tough topics to help others who face similar struggles.
Irwin told the outlet, “Bindi’s journey with endometriosis has been amazing because it’s hard to battle through that. And it’s easy to just let it be a silent kind of battle.”
However, he said that his older sister’s willingness to share her story has been inspiring. “But she’s decided to actually amplify that, to spread her story, to share that with people, to help other people. That’s a brave thing. That’s a challenging thing.”

She’s amazing. Anything that I can do to amplify this message of women’s health that she spearheads so well, I mean, sign me up. I’m there.”
Bindi was at her brother’s side throughout his appearances on Season 34 of DWTS. She was also there to assist him as he performed a moving contemporary dance, honoring their mother, Terri Irwin.
Irwin attended the event as part of his ongoing relationship with the reality dance series. His latest project continues to tie him to the franchise in a new, exciting capacity.
Robert Irwin Hosts New DWTS Summer Series
DisneyRobert Irwin will continue his partnership with DWTS this summer. He was tapped to host a midseason series, “Dancing with the Stars: The Next Pro.”
Irwin will helm the competition show, which seeks the series’ next pro dancer.
The series is a far cry from the original DWTS, which pairs professional dancers with celebrity contestants in a traditional ballroom setting as they train each week to master classic dance styles and elaborate routines.
A press release reveals that the new series will feature 12 dancers who move into one house. There they will compete in a series of auditions as they try to secure a spot on Season 35 of DWTS.
The dancers will be judged by three-time DWTS Mirrorball champion Mark Ballas. His mother, legendary Latin ballroom pro Shirley Ballas, will join him. Irwin and the Ballas’s will be assisted by DWTS pros, who will “serve as rotating mentors/guest judges.”
“Dancing with the Stars: The Next Pro” will premiere July 13, 2026, at 8 p.m. ET on ABC, with episodes available the next day on Hulu.
