Robert Irwin‘s mom, Terri Irwin, is reaching out to fans to ask for their prayers for her son’s dog, Stella. The “Dancing With the Stars” contestant recently shared that his sweet pug had surgery for cancerous tumors and he’s hopeful that she’ll make a full recovery.
Terri Irwin Asks Fans to Pray for Robert Irwin’s Dog
On October 13, Terri took to Instagram to update fans on Stella the pug’s health.
“Our dear little, squishy Stella has had surgery for two cancerous tumours,” Terri wrote in the caption. “She came through the operation, so now we wait to find out if all the cancer was successfully removed.”
“She is getting the best care with one of our friends, but I know Robert is having a hard time being so far away from her,” she added. “Your prayers would be much appreciated.”
Fans flooded the comments section with caring and supportive messages, incluing, “You got this, sweet Stella!! Her strength and everyone’s prayers will pull her (& your family) through.”
Others wrote, “Feel better soon Stella! You’re in my prayers💕🥹” and “Sweet Stella, I hope you make a full recovery!”

Robert Irwin Shares Dog’s Cancer Scare
On October 12, Robert took to Instagram to give his fans the “unfortunate” news about Stella.
“This is a tough one. I wanted to give an unfortunate update on my sweet little pup, Stella,” Robert wrote in the caption. “A mass was discovered that ended up being cancerous. We still don’t know the full extent of the cancer.”
Despite the sad news, Robert felt hopeful that his beloved dog would be okay. “I have faith she’ll be in the clear. She is such an important part of our little fam, so it’s been stressful to say the least being away from home and away from her while she goes through this,” he wrote.
Robert added, “I know you guys love seeing her and I love sharing her with you so wanted to give an update … she is doing ok post-surgery so far, she’s my little bestie & one tough cookie.”
His sister, Bindi Irwin, commented, “She’s such a strong and beautiful little soul.”
Terri wrote, “Every day is another day of healing. She is a determined little soul!💕.”
