“Dancing with the Stars” Season 34 competitor Robert Irwin and his professional partner Witney Carson’s Argentine Tango on Halloween Night left fans impressed. The pair performed to “Sweet Dreams Are Made of This” by The Hampton String Quartet, and it was arguably Irwin’s best dance of the season.
They looked incredible in their spooky costumes, and Irwin won over fans with his brooding appearance and dark eyeliner. However, the best part of the night was that fans finally felt satisfied with the judges’ scores!
Fans Finally Feel Satisfied With Robert Irwin’s Scores
After weeks of expressing their disappointment that judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Derek Hough, and Bruno Tonioli did not score Irwin and Carson higher, the judges finally acknowledged their brilliance.
Irwin scored 38 out of 40 on the night, earning his first 10s (twice) and winning over the judges, including special guest judge, DWTS alum and professional dancer, Cheryl Burke (who scored him a 9). After Irwin’s performance, footage was shared on the official “Dancing with the Stars” Instagram account on October 28. Fans flooded the comment section to share their thoughts and also express their relief that Irwin was finally being acknowledged with scores he should have gotten weeks ago.
“HE GOT TWO 10’s,” a fan wrote, in addition to a crying emoji. “Why did it take this long for Robert to get his 10??? HE IS HIM,” another fan shared.
A third fan shared similar sentiments, writing, “Those 10s felt SATISFYING.” Other reactions include, “The musicality, the intensity, the lift down the stairs, the partnership, the choreography. Insane,” “He nailed that first beat. I got goosebumps,” and “GIVE HIM THE MIRRORBALL NOW.”
Fans were also disappointed in Hough for not giving Irwin a ten, but thought Inaba got it right last night! “FOR ONCE THANK YOU CARRIE ANN INABA! Derek you’re on the bottom of my leader board tonight!” a fan shared.
Robert Irwin’s Halloween Night Look
Ahead of Irwin’s performance, he had given fans a sneak peek of his look with a short video on Instagram. He wore a red-and-black velvet suit that complemented Carson’s black velvet dress. In the caption, Irwin encouraged fans to vote and explained how to do so.
Fans did their thing because Irwin and Carson are safe for another week, and fans will get to see them perform in Week 8. One step closer to the Mirrorball Trophy, and Irwin remains a fan favorite!
