DWTS’ Whitney Leavitt Shares the Story Behind Her Inspiring Weight-Loss Transformation

Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” star Whitney Leavitt‘s time on the ballroom floor for “Dancing With The Stars” season 34 recently came to an end following the release of “Mormon Wives” season 3.

Between sharing videos with her pro dance partner Mark Ballas, as well as her experience with motherhood, the “DWTS” contestant has always been open with her fans on TikTok, especially about her weight loss journey after having children.

Whitney Partners With “WeightWatchers”

During her March 2023 appearance on the “Weekly Trash” podcast, hosted by Josie Van Dyke, Whitney shared that she previously partnered with “WeightWatchers,” a program that helps people lose weight based on a nutritional point system, and had gotten “really into” her weight loss journey.

“I was feeling great, doing great,” she said, and she “got really excited” until there was a “halt.”

Whitney Addresses “Ozempic” Rumors

Whitney revealed in a YouTube short video in January 2023 that she has “been losing weight” and the “secret sauce” to her recent weight loss was that she had begun taking semaglutide, which is a GLP-1 used to treat type 2 diabetes, otherwise known as Ozempic.

She went on to explain that it was “regulating” her “blood sugar” and “just, like, killing the fat, and I’m just peeing it out.” She added, “at least that’s how I understand it.” Then she showed herself injecting the medication.

“I’ve had the hardest time losing my bb (baby) weight,” she admitted in the caption of her video, but on semaglutide she’s “lost 10 lbs in a month.”

While discussing semaglutide on the “Weekly Trash” podcast, Whitney opened up about her love-hate relationship with the medication.

“I’ve loved the weight loss, I’ve hated how I’ve felt on it,” she said. “You constantly have diarrhea … you’re nauseous, I feel like I’m easily irritable, but it’s probably also because it’s also suppressing my appetite.”

She decided to go off the drug after nearly two months and losing 20 pounds.

“I’m grateful for the weight I lost, but I’m getting off of it,” she revealed. “I’ve literally been sick for two months. I haven’t felt like myself.”

Whitney on Healing Her Relationship With Food

During her appearance on the “Weekly Trash” podcast, Whitney also discussed her issues around food.

“I have a very binge eating personality that I hate so much, but I’m working on it. It’s getting better,” she said.

By June 2025, she went on the “It Girl” podcast where she answered the most searched questions about herself. One question said, “fans have been accusing you of being on Ozempic, what do you have to say about these rumors?”

“False,” Whitney said. “I am not on Ozempi.”

Then she clarified that she did do Ozempic after having her son Liam, but not after having her son Billy. Despite loving the weight loss, she was very honest when she discussed the symptoms she was dealing with while on the medication.

“I had diahrrea, I was throwing up all the time, and then as soon as I got off of it, I gained all of that weight back.” So, she’s now having a “healthier relationship with food.”

“I’m just trying to think of the long haul. So, no Ozempi this time,” she concluded.

In June 2025, Leavitt appeared on the “Not Skinny But Not Fat” podcast and got candid about her new method to her weight loss: counting macros.

“After my second (child), I did Ozempic. But I’m not doing Ozempic this time … They don’t believe me, ‘I’m like, you guys I promise you, I’m counting macros this time,'”

Whitney explained that counting macros means tracking the amount of protein, carbohydrates, and fats you consume. “It’s a lot, but I enjoy it,” she concluded.
