The Oscar-nominated actress made a jaw-dropping entrance at the London premiere of “Wuthering Heights,” stepping onto the red carpet in a sheer, sculpted gown literally crafted from woven hair. Robbie turned a Victorian-inspired concept into one of her most daring fashion moments yet.
Robbie Turns Heads in Bold Look
GettyThe 35-year-old actress arrived in style, wearing the custom Dilara Findikoglu gown. It hugged her figure, as it featured braided strands that crisscrossed her torso. The dress framed her bust and cinched her waist.
You could see olive-toned tresses that feathered outward at the shoulders and hips. The dress created a wild and majestic statement, which was styled by Andrew Mukamal.
GettyAs you continued to look at the gown from the side and the back, you could see the most shocking detail of the floor-length gown. There was an exposed spine that happened to be traced with woven hair lacing, which was finished in a textured, frayed flourish at the lower back.
The look was completed with a braided choker and minimal jewelry, which included Jessica McCormack earrings. She finished the look with a romantic updo, including elegant curled strands framing her face.
Inspired By a Bracelet
GettyWhen talking with Who What Wear on the red carpet, Robbie said, “It’s more of a creation. You’re not even getting the full effect of it, but it’s made out of hair.”
She went on to say, “It’s inspired by this bracelet,” as she pointed to her wrist. “This is a replica of Charlotte Brontë‘s bracelet, which was, they suspect, woven out of Anne and Emily’s hair,” Robbie added.

Maybe it’s just me, but I’m thinking about all the poor kids that could have had wigs made instead of her getting that dress. It could have been made with synthetic hair, and kids with cancer could have gotten real hair wigs donated. IDK. It just seems like such a colossal waste to use human hair for a dress instead of a wig when so many need it. I’m not mad about it or anything, just thinking about it.
