Paulina Porizkova, 60, knows what it’s like to be youthful and gorgeous. These days, the former supermodel also knows what it’s like to be older and stunning — even with (and because of) gray hair and wrinkles. Beyond that, she’s opened up about aging as well as comments she gets about getting older.
“‘Easy for you to say embrace your age when you have always been more beautiful than average, and so you still are,'” Paulina wrote in an Instagram post she shared on Friday, November 14. “This is something I hear all the time. Sometimes whispered behind my back, sometimes said to my face… but I get the idea.”
“I’d argue it would be far FAR easier for me to NOT accept aging, to use everything at my disposal to extend my desirability — after all, I’m in the public eye and am judged on a daily basis for how I look,” she continued.
“So why haven’t I? Because I don’t think ‘aging’ equals breaking.’ The ‘aging’ doesn’t need to be fixed,” Paulina added. “(But to be clear, some of the things that come with aging do need fixing. And sometimes, if it makes you feel better and more confident, it can be cosmetic!)”
She went on to write, “But for now — in my case — aging has been the fixing!”
She also added a number of telling hashtags, including “#betweenjloandbettywhite #grateful #thisis60 #olderisbolder #sexyhasnoexpirationdate #shakeitoff #acceptance #nofilter #nomakeup #nofillers #nobotox YET🤪”
Paulina Loves Her Gray Hair
GettyWhat does Paulina think about having gray hair nowadays? Well, she happens to like it. In fact, she loves it.
In April, she was asked by Harper’s Bazaar, “What aspects of your physical appearance do you love more now, as you’ve gotten older?”
“I love my gray hair. It still requires maintenance, believe it or not, but I feel very good about my hair,” Paulina replied.
Paulina Feels a ‘Responsibility’ to Be Real
Getty“As soon as you start filtering yourself or auto-tuning your photos and stuff, well then, it’s not really all that authentic anymore,” Porizkova told People in October 2023. “I feel a responsibility to put myself out there as I am.”
“One of the incredible things about aging is that you care less and less about what other people think,” she continued. “You’re like, ‘You know what? I’ve done my bit. I’ve been serving everybody else for 50 years — now, it’s my turn.’”
“I know without a doubt that I am the best that I’ve ever been,” she added. “Why do I need improvement? I’m in my prime right now. I’m sorry that you think my wrinkles dismiss me from being in my prime, but as a person, as a fully formed woman at the height of her power, this is it.”
