Actors today are embracing change and helping make it normal to accept aging. Supermodel and DWTS alum Paulina Porizkova, 60, recently turned two awkward camera moments into powerful reflections on aging and self-acceptance.

Porizkova Uses Filter to Reflect on Beauty & Perspective
Porizkova used an aging filter and made a strong point.
“This aging filter makes me feel just like when I look at old photos of myself and I think – ‘you had no idea how attractive you were.’ Except here, the ‘before’ is NOW! So, this is how great I look right now! Hah. Nothing better than a little perspective! (Also, so cool to know that if this filter is right, I will look a little like Vanessa Redgrave in 20 years, and THAT is something to be happy about.),” she wrote, adding the hashtags #betweenjloandbettywhite #thisis60 #gratitude #olderisbolder.
Fans loved her take. One fan wrote: “You are so beautiful and a wonderful soul! But I wonder why so much focus on transience and aging…? I think it is much nicer to live without often analyzing the fact that we are getting older…❤️”
Another fan shared: “What an obsession! We are like we are… I am 60, I don’t look myself in the mirror every single minute… I don’t think about how good looking I was when I was younger or how older I will look at 70. Please stop it. Who care how old you will look in 10 years? Oh god!”
A third interesting comment on her post read: “Paulina, you’re beautiful, and your sense of humor is what I love most about you!😘”
A Viral Moment From an “Unflattering Angle”
Porizkova posted another clip captioned “Oh… Oops!” The short video showed her accidentally filming herself from an upward-facing angle while looking down at her phone. Instead of deleting it, she shared it with fans, using the moment to talk about authenticity in aging.
“So much for ‘Oh, aging is easy for you, Miss Supermodel,’” she joked. But she added a deeper reflection: “(Aging is) easy only for those who have never cared what they look like, spent a lifetime pursuing noble goals, and are in perfect health.”
The model, who also appeared on the 4th season of “Dancing with the Stars”, concluded that while aging isn’t always easy, it is a privilege.
“I love my age. I’m the happiest I’ve ever been. I wouldn’t trade it for any other age.”
Finding Love & Gratitude Later in Life
Porizkova has long used her platform to share both highs and lows with her audience, especially following the death of her husband, musician Ric Ocasek, in 2019. In July, she announced her engagement to writer and producer Jeff Greenstein, sharing a clip of the couple holding hands with the caption, “He asked.”
The pair began dating in 2023 and recently celebrated two years since their first meeting. Speaking on the TODAY show earlier this year, Porizkova reflected, “I feel like I’ve just discovered love.”
Inspiring Fans by Redefining Aging
For Porizkova, who once graced countless magazine covers, the journey of aging has required inner strength. “Having relied on my looks for most of my life as a part of my personality, this physically aging stuff demands an inner courage I’m still working on. It’s work. But … It is also a privilege of which I am absolutely conscious and grateful,” she wrote.
Her honesty resonated with fans, who praised her posts in the comments. One follower wrote, “Your posts are so healing. It’s silently giving us constant permission to enjoy the journey and add more grace into our life. Thank you.”
Porizkova’s candid perspective adds her voice to a growing wave of women in Hollywood embracing aging in the spotlight. This spring, fellow model and actress Brooke Shields celebrated her 60th birthday with bikini photos and the caption, “This is 60!”
By sharing both her humor and vulnerability, Porizkova continues to inspire fans to see aging not as something to hide, but as something to celebrate.
