Paulina Porizkova isn’t afraid to be real when it comes to aging. Along with embracing her gray hair and wrinkles, the former supermodel and “Dancing With the Stars” season 4 alum is also willing to share a photo of herself in a swimsuit (not long after double hip surgery). Now, she’s posted a video of herself wearing a bra and panties in order to make a point about aging, bodies, what you see (or don’t see) and what’s real.
Porizkova Says It’s ‘Smoke and Mirrors, Folks’
Porizkova took to Instagram on Thursday, March 12, to share a video of herself wearing a pink lingerie set as well as an open robe and leopard print high heels. While the recording starts with the former model posing a little distance from the camera, she then takes off her robe and moves closer to show off “the reality” of her body as a 60-year-old woman.
“Smoke and mirrors, folks. That’s how you make it look good for a moment,” Porizkova wrote in the caption of her post. “The truth is, gravity takes its toll. But! Gravity has also built your strength so you can hold your head higher than ever.”
“I first bought this lingerie set seven years ago for someone who couldn’t have cared less about the lingerie, he just needed me to be twenty years younger,” she explained. “And now, even though I barely fit into it, it’s entirely worth to put it on just to see the look on my love’s @sjedf face. And so with all the obvious so-called-flaws of age, I have never felt sexier and more at home in my skin.”
She added a few hashtags, writing, “#betweenjloandbettywhite #thisis60 #sexyhasnoexpirationdate #lingerie #nofilter (ever!)”
Fans Appreciate Porizkova’s Video & Message
GettyWhen Porizkova shared her video on Instagram, quite a few of her followers left comments in response.
“You are stunning and real, that’s a power duo,” one person wrote.
Another fan added, “Love this message 🙌❤️”
“I appreciate your willingness to be honest and vulnerable about the natural aging process. I am about to turn 50 and I want to love myself on this journey. I don’t want to feel like I ‘need’ injections and surgery. Seeing women be authentic and happy in their skin is truly wonderful and inspiring. Thank you,” a third follower said.
“You are stunning! ❤️. At 66, I totally understand. I lift, yoga, cycle all the things but now it’s not the aesthetics I’m after but rather being strong and centered for the next season of life. Loving the peace that comes with this part of the journey! ❤️,” came from another social media user.
Someone else left a comment, saying, “Thank you for this ❤️ I’m 60 also and my tummy is not going anywhere either and carried 2 children! Let’s just learn to love them ❤️”
