Paula Deen Weight Loss Reveal

Paula Deen celebrated her 79th birthday with a sweet treat. However, her fans are noticing a dramatic weight loss that comes with the big birthday celebration.

The former Food Network star shared the post on her Instagram page, celebrating her big day. For her birthday, the chef shared a picture of her holding an orange cupcake that happened to have a picture of her face on it.

The photo was all about celebrating her birthday. However, fans were quick to jump in the comments to highlight her significant weight loss. Deen, who was definitely looking more svelte, was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes several years ago.

She captioned the photo, “I’ve officially taken another trip around the sun—here’s to being a sweet 79 years young!” Deen is pictured with her husband in the photo.

Paula Deen Documentary

In June 2013, Deen was dropped by the Food Network after a massive fallout. She had been sued for racial discrimination and sexual harassment by an employee at her brother’s restaurant in 2012, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

That case was dismissed. However, she did admit to using a racial slur in the workplace in a sworn deposition, the New York Times stated. That is what led to her dismissal from the Food Network.

In the fall of 2025, Deen debuted her documentary, “Canceled: The Paula Deen Story,” at the Toronto International Film Festival. The movie was looking to “explain her views and why she feels she got a raw deal as she alleged that the plaintiff’s claims of racist behavior were invented,” The Hollywood Reporter wrote.

Deen told The Hollywood Reporter, “I would have been fine had the whole story been told — had the real story been told.”
