Brooke Shields’ season 13 return to the Hallmark Channel series “When Calls The Heart” after a decade has already been incredibly meaningful. But on the episode airing March 8, 2026, her guest-starring role with end with a special companion by her side — Shields’ own daughter, Rowan Francis Henchy.
Shields, who plays Charlotte Thornton — the mother of Elizabeth’s late husband Jack — first shared the news of her daughter’s acting debut in December. Now that Henchy’s episode is scheduled to air, her famous mom is able to share some new details about their scene together.
Brooke Shields Says Daughter Rowan Henchy ‘Did So Well’ in Her First Onscreen Role
GettyShields appears in three episodes of season 13, set in the 1920s. The iconic actress and model was part of the first episode, as Elizabeth and Little Jack, along with boyfriend Nathan Grant and his daughter, Allie, wrapped up their extended stay at Charlotte’s home, located in Union City, which had immediate access to the insulin Little Jack needed after being diagnosed with diabetes.
On the touching March 1 episode, Charlotte visited them in Hope Valley as the family helped Little Jack learn more about his dad (played by Daniel Lissing), a Mountie who died in a landslide accident in season 5.
For the next episode of WCTH on March 8, Shields told Us Weekly that she and her daughter Rowan got to work together for the first time after she was offered a cameo on the show. Shields, 60, shares Rowan and her 19-year-old sister, Grier Hammond Henchy, with husband Chris Henchy, 61.
“We did not expect my daughter to be in it,” Shields said. “It happened kind of last minute.”
When to Watch for Brooke Shields’ Daughter on WCTH
GettyShields told Us Weekly that Rowan will appear toward the end of the 10th episode, as Charlotte is leaving Hope Valley to return to Union City. Watch for the car that picks up Charlotte; inside, Rowan will be “dressed in 1920s’ period-piece clothing,” sitting in the back of the car with Charlotte, per the outlet.
Now a booking producer on ABC’s “Good Morning America,” Rowan was in some plays in college and has been on other sets with her mom, but Shields told Us Weekly she noticed her daughter was adorably “wide-eyed” at times on the WCTH set.
“I just didn’t want to micromanage,” she said. “But if there was something and I saw it in her face, I’d say, like, ‘OK, that’s 10-1, and 10-1 means to go to the bathroom.’ Those kinds of things about how the crew works.”
“I thought she did so well,” Shields gushed, noting that WCTH’s screenwriters “kept adding lines for her.”
WCTH’s Diabetes Storyline is Especially Meaningful for Brooke Shields & Her Daughter
HallmarkHaving Rowan on set for this particular show was especially meaningful to Shields because Rowan has diabetes just like Little Jack on the series.
“Little Jack having diabetes in an era when nobody knew about it, and refrigeration wasn’t a thing, was compelling to me,” Shields told Parade in December. “I have a Type-1 diabetic daughter who was diagnosed at age 14, and this is the first major television series script that came across my desk that had a legitimate Type-1 diabetes storyline, and that definitely hit home for me.”
On returning to the role of Charlotte with Rowan in tow, Shields told the outlet, “I’m just sitting there thinking that at 60 years old it has culminated into this really feel-good, positive goodwill that I’m being invited to still play in and do, and share it with my daughter.”
The next episode of “When Calls The Heart” with Shields’ daughter Rowan airs on March 8 at 8 p.m. Eastern time and will be available to stream the next day via Hallmark+.
