“When Calls the Heart” season 13 episode 10 is set to deliver a nostalgic chapter in Hope Valley. The upcoming installment, titled “Blessings,” will feature the return of Brooke Shields as Charlotte Thornton, along with key developments for Nathan and Allie as the season nears its final stretch.
With only a handful of episodes remaining in season 13, major storylines are beginning to take shape. Here is what viewers can expect next week on the Hallmark Channel drama.
Brooke Shields Returns as Charlotte in ‘When Calls the Heart’ Season 13 Episode 10
According to the official synopsis, episode 10, “Blessings,” will see Nathan enlisting Allie’s help for a “top-secret mission” and bringing Charlotte on a heartfelt visit. The logline states: “Nathan enlists Allie’s help for a top-secret mission and brings Charlotte on a heartfelt visit. Lucas and Edie grow closer from afar. Rosemary steps into a new role.”
Charlotte’s return follows her emotional appearance in season 13 episode 9, where she reconnected with her grandson, Little Jack, played by Hyland Goodrich. During that episode, Nathan called Charlotte back to Hope Valley so she could support Little Jack during a memory hunt honoring his late father, Jack Thornton.
Shields reflected on the experience in an interview with TV Insider. “It was an emotional episode,” Shields said. “It does a bit of a number on you, but it felt like there was a lot of closure. It felt like there was a fresh new beginning in certain areas, and it felt very respectful of the past. I thought that they kind of encapsulated it all together in very interesting ways.”
Shields also addressed Charlotte’s return to Hope Valley for the first time since Jack’s death in season 5. “She’s such a survivor that I think she was probably even surprised at the emotion that she felt, and probably really needed it,” Shields said.
Nathan, Elizabeth & Rosemary Face New Changes in Season 13
Episode 9 centered on Little Jack learning more about his father’s legacy. Elizabeth, played by Erin Krakow, organized a memory hunt that included stories from Nathan, Bill, Dr. Faith, and Henry Hughes about Jack’s bravery and impact on Hope Valley.
Nathan assured Little Jack of his support, telling him he would always be there for him. Charlotte later read a heartfelt letter Jack had written about becoming a father, giving her grandson a deeper connection to his dad.
Meanwhile, Lucas worked to secure funding for Leland’s construction project and stayed in contact with Edie as they navigated both business and personal matters. The synopsis for episode 10 confirms that Lucas and Edie “grow closer from afar,” suggesting their relationship remains in focus.
Rosemary will also “step into a new role,” continuing her evolving presence in Hope Valley. Over the years, Rosemary has taken on multiple responsibilities within the town, and season 13 appears to continue that trajectory.
