Beloved Hallmark Channel actress and director Yan-Kay Crystal Lowe has stunned her colleagues by insisting on working through her intense cancer treatments. On November 3, 2025, fellow Hallmark fan-favorite Ashley Williams posted a video of Lowe, 44, hard at work while receiving her latest chemotherapy infusion for stage three breast cancer, a shocking diagnosis she announced in October.
In the video, taken by friend and fellow Hallmark actress Sharon Taylor, Lowe could be seen in her infusion center — bald from chemo, bundled up, and hooked up to an IV. Sitting on a hospital table in front of her was a small screen, allowing her to remotely monitor the set of the latest movie she’s directing.
Yan-Kay Crystal Lowe Has Been Building Her Directing Portfolio At Hallmark Channel
Lowe, who’s been part of Hallmark’s “Signed, Sealed, Delivered” cast since the franchise began in 2013, has also been busily building her portfolio as a director over the last couple of years.
Receiving mentorship, guidance, and opportunities through Hallmark’s Make Her Mark program (Williams’ brainchild to champion aspiring female directors), Lowe has directed Hallmark movies including 2024’s “Shifting Gears” and “This Time Each Year,” and 2025’s “Pie to Die For: A Hannah Swensen Mystery.”
Sharing Taylor’s video on social media, Williams wrote, “Crystal Lowe was the first woman to go through the women’s directing program I founded with Hallmark channel, Make Her Mark. Since then she has directed four more movies with crew and cast raving about her powerhouse skill and clear vision.”
Williams continued, “Crystal had just booked yet another directing job a few months ago when she was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer. But nothing stops this girl. She fully prepped the movie and then had them set up a live feed so she could direct remotely during chemo.”
“This video was yesterday,” Williams added. “No other text needed here except: Look at our girl go. 🚀”
Taylor, sarcastically quipped, “So, no big deal. She’s just directing a movie while she’s getting chemo!”
“That’s me,” Lowe smiled, wearing earbuds to hear the dialogue on-set. “Directing at the same time. Never stops.”

Hallmark Channel Fans Cheer On Yan-Kay Crystal Lowe, But Also Want Her to Rest Well
HallmarkHallmark Channel fans also flooded Williams’ post with awestruck comments, calling her “a force” to be reckoned with. But some concerned fans also urged Lowe to rest well while she’s fighting cancer.
One wrote, “Great but also she should take the time she needs to take care of herself. You’re also a strong person if you set boundaries and prioritize your well being”
Williams jumped in to reply, “We’ve talked about this. And to be clear, she’s doing that too. She says having something to focus on has been instrumental for her during this process. ❤️”
Lowe, who shares a nine-year-old daughter and three-year-old son with her husband, Mike Tomasevich, shared her diagnosis via social media on October 10, telling her followers that to beat her type of breast cancer, her oncology team advised several months of chemo infusions, followed by a double mastectomy, radiation, and reconstruction surgeries.

I have always loved your acting. I am praying for a full recovery for you!!! I am asking for many of my friends to pray earnestly for your healing. Love you !
