Erica Durance, 48, Embraces Her Natural Beauty in Makeup-Free Selfie: SEE

Hallmark actress Erica Durance, 48, shared a glimpse into her recent travels in an Instagram post on Saturday, August 22.

Despite her back-to-back flights to and from London, the “A Scottish Love Scheme” star looked luminous in her makeup-free photos.

“Yesterday: ✈️ plane pics, good lighting, London-bound optimism. Today: landed, caffeinated, and straight to work. 😂 Lois & Erica are officially on the London hustle, meeting fans and talking all things Smallville. 💫❤️,” Durance captioned her post.

Durance, who famously played Lois Lane in the hit series “Smallville” from season 4 through season 10, shared in her Instagram caption that she was in London for a fan event.

Despite remaining active with longtime fans of the superhero teen drama, “Smallville” ended in 2011. The series also starred Tom Welling as Clark Kent, Michael Rosenbaum as Lex Luther, Kristin Kreuk as Lana Lang, and Justin Hartley as Oliver Queen.

After the popular series concluded, Durance went on to star in the medical drama “Saving Hope” from 2012-2017. She starred in her first Hallmark film, “Wedding Planner Mystery” in 2014 before taking on several others roles for the network, including “North to Home” (2022), “Unexpected Grace” (2023), “Happy Holidays from Cherry Lane” (2024), and more.

How Erica Durance Drew Inspiration for ‘Smallville’ Role

At the height of her “Smallville” fame, Durance opened up about taking on such a prominent role in the world of superhero fandom. While many other actresses have played Lois Lane before her in both film and television, Durance previously admitted in an interview with Krypton Site that although she drew inspiration from those before her, she knew she’d have to put her own spin on the character for it to be a success with fans.

“I could never be Margot Kidder; I could never be Teri Hatcher,” Durance said at the time. “If it makes sense, I try to see Lois as a brand new person, and even though she is a much beloved character, I try to look at it as this brand new girl, never been played before by anyone.”

“I had a chance to meet a few of the Loises,” she added. “I met Noel Neill a few times; and I met Margot Kidder. I was at a convention and this lady comes from behind me and whispers in my ear, and she goes, ‘You hit it out of the ball park,’ and I looked, and it was Margot Kidder.”

While her role as Lois Lane is far different from characters she’s played on Hallmark, Durance briefly opened up in an interview with Media Village about her role as Emma in Hallmark’s “Color My World with Love,” which tells the story of Kendall and Brad, who navigate falling in love while having Down syndrome.

“With first love, there’s so much hope, and so much beauty, and those are things [a child] needs to experience. You want your child to love in full color. That’s one of the things I think is so relatable to viewers, regardless of where you’re at in your life. Let somebody experience their experience, and then learn from each other,” Durance said. “The theme throughout this whole movie is the idea of trying to see something from someone else’s perspective, then let it change your vision of the world.”
