Candace Cameron Bure Is Pushed to Her Limits in First Look at ‘Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test’

The fifth season of “Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test” is set to debut on Fox, featuring a new crop of celebrities enduring grueling military-style training in an inhospitable Malaysian jungle.

Among the stars participating in the new season is Candace Cameron Bure.

Judging by a new teaser for the upcoming season, the former Hallmark Channel star and “Full House” alum does not have an easy time with any of it.

The Jungle Can Kill

“The jungle can kill you before the enemy even has a chance,” the teaser warns.

That certainly appears to be the threat facing Cameron Bure and her fellow celebs, Matt Barnes, Alycia Baumgardner, David Charvet, Brandi Glanville, Collin Gosselin, Oliver Hudson, LeSean McCoy, Maxim Naumov, Ruby Rose, George Santos, Hannah Stocking, Breana Tiesi, Alexia Umansky and Mauricio Umansky.

The teaser begins with the cast members relaxing poolside in a mansion. “I said, ‘We’re not going to talk politics or religion.’ And now look at who I’m sitting in between,” Glanville jokes as she points to Santos, a former congressman, and Cameron Bure, who has never been shy about expressing her faith.

A Formidable Team

Just as the celebs laugh, the doorbell rings and the show’s team of former special forces operatives bursts in, yelling at the stars to “get down on the ground” while hurling them into the pool.

The recruits will once again be trained and evaluated by ex-Special Forces operatives Rudy Reyes, Billy Billingham, Jason “Foxy” Fox and Jovon “Q” Quarles.

The teaser shares glimpses of the stars taking on actual Special Forces training, which includes jumping off cliffs, crawling through thick, muddy terrain and worse.

For Cameron Bure, the experience is a world away from appearing in a Great American Family Christmas movie — evident by a brief clip in which she can be seen vomiting, her face contorted in agony.

“What we just did, just now,” mud-covered Charvet says, before Barnes finishes his sentence by adding, “Hardest thing in my life.

Intense Challenges

Special Forces: World's Toughest TestFOX

“Fox’s ultimate celebrity social experiment, ‘Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test,’ returns for a fifth season, enlisting a troop of household names to endure some of the harshest, most grueling challenges from the playbook of the actual Special Forces selection process,” reads the Fox press release for the new season.

“The latest installment of the military-inspired competition is relocating to Malaysia, where 15 celebrity recruits will face the unforgiving conditions of the jungle while attempting to complete challenges modeled after the real-life Special Forces selection process,” the release adds.

“Unlike traditional reality competitions, ‘Special Forces’ features no public voting and no weekly eliminations. Instead, participants leave only if they voluntarily withdraw, are medically unable to continue, fail the required tasks, or are dismissed by the show’s directing staff,” the release continues.

“This season’s recruits will be pushed through a series of physically and mentally demanding exercises, including searching an underground bunker for military weapons in a claustrophobic environment, retrieving supplies while suspended 300 feet above the jungle floor, and navigating chemical gas exposure while collecting coordinates tied to an enemy vessel,” the press release concludes.

The fifth season of “Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test” premieres Thursday, September 24 on Fox.
