Longtime Hallmark star Jonathan Bennett and his husband of nearly four years, singer-songwriter Jaymes Vaughan, are known for their hilarious antics on social media and at Hallmark Channel events. But Vaughan clearly did not plan the blooper that occurred on December 31, 2025, while he helped Bennett host his 10th consecutive New Year’s Eve show from New York’s Times Square.

After appearing onstage with Bennett during a segment streamed to millions watching around the world, Vaughan shared on social media that he “felt something tear” and scurried offstage to discover a huge tear across the back of his green velvet pants.

In a video he posted midway through the show, Vaughan said, “If you just saw me make that face on camera in Times Square, this is why. I felt something go in the middle of that last live hit.”

Turning around and lifting up his matching jacket, revealing the tear, the “S.O.S.” singer asked, “Is it bad? How bad is it?” Bennett could be heard off-camera saying, “I mean…turn? It’s not — is it bad or is it good? ‘Cause I think it’s good.”

Vaughan then felt the tear with his hand behind his back. His eyes immediately widened as he exclaimed, “Oh! It’s bad!” He amusingly captioned the video, “And we still got 3 more hours of the show to go. #SendPants”

In his Instagram Stories on New Year’s Day, he shared the video and wrote, “Somebody set a reminder for December 31, 2026 to remind me to pack pants with some stretch in em please.”

Vaughan, 42, was a host on “Celebrity Page” in 2016 when he first met and interviewed Bennett, and the spark between them was immediately obvious.

He has become an offscreen favorite among Hallmark fans who follow the couple on social media and love seeing Vaughan perform his holiday tunes at events like the Hallmark Christmas Experience, where Bennett joyfully danced in the front row as Vaughan performed during the event’s first weekend.

Vaughan’s songs have also appeared in Hallmark movies over the last two years. But in November, Bennett told EntertainmentNow, “I want to do a movie where he and I are in it together, a Hallmark movie together.”
